First of all, thanks to all VSers, couldn't have made it without your support and words of encouragement. We wish nothing but best for my fellow VSers who are still waiting for their loves ones here.
So now about the interview.. We were both extremely nervous, but i prepared my wife with all kind of interview questions that were listed here in various consulate reviews. So my wife reached at consulate at about 6:30am and there were like 3-4 people there. So she waited for about an hour and just hang around the consulate, had some tea and toasts from local street vendor..lol!! She told me that parking is far, so make sure someone goes with you who can drop you off at the consulate.
So there are two lines, one is for immigration and the other for non-immigrants. Everyone were asked to submit their phones. Laptops and backpacks are not allowed inside. Only small purses are allowed inside. She received token and went inside in the air conditioned waiting roo... read complete review

My fiance had an 08:45 AM interview scheduled. They led her in at 08:30 AM. Following things happened in order:
- Received a queue number
- waited and waited...Got called on pre-interview window to submit documents as requested and do the finger prints plus have a photo taken
- waited again, and got called to the interview window for questioning. All the questions were pretty basic like what is name, what is your date of birth, what is your occupation, what marrying in the US, asked to point out individuals on the pictures that I submitted with the petition (NVC sent it to New Delhi Consulate). They did not look at the proof of relationship and other stuff at all.
The whole process took about 2.5 hours!!!

This was a very tense interview for us. I did not quite meet domicile requirements, since I was not renting or owning a home in the US and was working in India at that time. I only had a bank account, credit cards and a 401k account. I luckily got a job offer literally about 10 days before the interview (yay! for contacts).
I emailed the consulate before hand to check if we could bring our 7 month old son to the interview, since he would not stay with anyone else. They were very good about it and sent us a letter which was really useful in convincing the security at the gate.

Hi Everyone!
On May 9th I received a letter from the Mumbai Consulate, dated April 26, saying that the interview was scheduled for the 24th of May and that all documents should be brought. That was it.
No NOA, no Packet 3/ Packet 4. Just the application and the interview date. So in 2 weeks I had to get all my documents ready!
The part I was most worried about was the Proof of Domicile - that a lot of DCF filers have a problem with. I had planned to be in the US by the time my husband's interview date came around, but it happened too quickly for that!
My husband reached the consulate at 6 am on the 24th of May. He waited for about half an hour and then was told to submit documents and fingerprinting at the vfs counter. When he submitted, we were missing 1 document - the printout from the vfs page which said where the passport was to be picked up (my oversight - I didn't know that it was needed). Due to that he had to wait till all oth... read complete review
