First of all, thanks to all VSers, couldn't have made it without your support and words of encouragement. We wish nothing but best for my fellow VSers who are still waiting for their loves ones here.

So now about the interview.. We were both extremely nervous, but i prepared my wife with all kind of interview questions that were listed here in various consulate reviews. So my wife reached at consulate at about 6:30am and there were like 3-4 people there. So she waited for about an hour and just hang around the consulate, had some tea and toasts from local street vendor..lol!! She told me that parking is far, so make sure someone goes with you who can drop you off at the consulate.

So there are two lines, one is for immigration and the other for non-immigrants. Everyone were asked to submit their phones. Laptops and backpacks are not allowed inside. Only small purses are allowed inside. She received token and went inside in the air conditioned waiting room for immigrant people. No AC for non-immigrant. They have to suffer in heat and a small fan.

She waited for about 20 mins and then she was called for finger prints at counter # 21. Then she was told to wait and watch for her number flashing on the screen. About 10mins later, her number was called on the screen and a sweet and cute indian lady called her for first interview. She asked her simple questions (when did your husband go to USA) just asked her to submit papers (marriage certificate, education degree (10th and 12th board exams), passport pics). My wife didn't have these, so Indian CO told her to submit these at VFS office ASAP.

So once this was done, she had to wait for almost an hour and half because only two american COs were working that day. Her number was called upon window# 22 and an american CO greeted her. She observed that this CO was very harsh with other people and my wife was praying not to get interviewed from him.. He asked her to choose the language for interview. My wife requested to be interviewed in native langauge (Hindi) and suddenly this american CO started talking to her in fluent Hindi. He asked her following questions:
Where did we meet? How? What does he do? Where does he work?
About in laws, their names? How many people attended wedding? Why? Asked my wife about her past. Why did she choose me? etc.. Basically everything about us and all the events led to our marriage.

My wife did an awesome job. She answered each and every question to the perfection and with great level of confidence. She wasn't asked to show any pics or documents. But then.... He gave her passport back with form 221G. So my wife got upset and asked CO whether her VISA got approved or not. CO kinda smirked and told her to submit the docs and she will find out. He finally told her indirectly that her visa is approved, but she will have to wait until she submits the docs requested (which were secondary evidence for her birth and 2 "american" passport size pics with her original passport).

My wife left embassy bit sad but everyone there told her that she has nothing to worry about and her visa is approved. She submitted the docs requested at VFS office same evening and two days later.. voyla!!! We received passport with visa stamp. Needless to say, we're overjoyed and I am now anxiously waiting for my baby to enter US of A in just a few days. It seemed like an eternity, but in the end another happy ending!!!

Please take all the docs whether you think you need them or not. You never know what they will ask you to submit. Just read your own papers and forms that you submitted. They ask questions from what you have submitted, so it is important that you know what you have written in all forms at NVC and USCIS. Another thing is be confidant and answer positively. Do your homework and you will be just fine.. So good luck to all VSers and cheers!!

P.S> Take a bottle of water if you don't wanna drink tap water inside embassy.
