It was really very nice interview. We reached Mumbai on 16th itself and went to the consulate on the next day and ask the security force about the timings and all. They said come before 7 am, also bring umbrella if it is raining.

Next day we reached consulate at 6.55am, there were two lines immigrant and non-immigrant lines. VFS people checked my appointment letter and document pick up confirmation page and asked me to join the line. There were about 20 people before me.At 7am they asked us to get into the gate and we were asked to sit in front of the entry gate. After sometime they called us and there was a checking of items with us. Remember not to bring any electronic items or mobile phones etc. I was wearing my watch and they asked me to put that also along with my documents for checking. After that we were directed to another door there was also a lot of chairs and we were asked to wait there. At 7.00am we were allowed to get into the interview room, there ... read complete review

The experience was extremely great. I get there at 8:15 and entered the immigrant line. After talking with the Indian workers, I waited for the actual interview. My number was called and was greeted by a male officer. He had no smile on his face and was extremely intimidating.
I was asked three questions:
What is your husband's name?
What does he do for work?
How many people attended the wedding?

He then handed me a paper and told me my passport would arrive within 10 business days. I was shocked because it took less than 30 seconds and the workers mentioned that it was one of the quickest interviews they had seen. My husband sent all of the paperwork ahead of time as far as the evidence is concerned. Photos, phones records, etc. The officer probably made up his mind and wanted a few verification in person.
