My Fiance interview was schedule for September 6th, 2018. Upon arriving my fiance stated he was asked a few question such as who sent for him, when we met and a couple of basic information. Upon reviewing all the information they asked him for the divorce documents. Unfortunately for us I did not know that the actual marriage license was needed and only sent in the judge approval of divorce notice and my fiance did not have his divorce documents either. The CO advised him to mail in both a divorce and marriage certificate for himself and a divorce decree for I. The CO also advised him to send proof of communication from the very month we started dating. I was able to get my divorce certificate mailed out in 2 days but my fiance paperwork took 5 months, documents went out in Feb.. Due to the riots and government shut down and not to mention Haiti's unorganized records systems. Upon sending the documents in i was told it would not exceed 60 days in AP. It took 11 months from the time of... read complete review

My fiancé's interview was scheduled for 7 AM. He arrived at 6 and got out by 8:30 AM. We provided all the required documents beforehand so he only went with his passport. He was asked a few questions including how we met; how many times have we seen each other; what do I do and where; my yearly income; what he does; have we met each other family; and have either of us been married or have kids. He was approved and should expect his passport back in two weeks.

My fiance arrived early in the morning, He was asked a couple of questions such as whats my name, how did we meet, how many times we meet in person, then the consular ask him wheres the divorce paperwork for both him and I. I originally sent in my court order showing that i was divorced but did not think to send the actual certificate. The consular told him that he would need more proof dating back to the year we met and both marriage and divorce paperwork for him and divorce paperwork for me. Upon sending back the documents it took 6 months for us to receive the approval. in between that time frame my fiance had to submit a second medical exam. Overall the Administrative processing was extremely stressful. However when we were approved everything went by quickly. We were approved on Monday and he had his visa in hand by Friday. He was able to pick up his visa packet at the embassy instead of the DHL pickup location since his visa was due to an urgency.
