So, our interview was Feb, 4, 2014. Our interview was at 8, we arrived at 730am. You have to wait for a man to come out of the consulate and give you a number. We were number 16. There are a good amount of people waiting in a line outside. They call you by number and you go through security. Once inside, you have to go to window 5 and hand in your police certificate as well as los antecedentes penales certificate. If you do not have those, YOU MUST RETURN LATER ON. So make sure you have those, even if you are in the states and have to go to Guatemala early to get your DPI and those documents. They do not accept the excuse that were in the states and couldn't get them.
After going to window 5, you are asked to sit and wait for your name to be called. Mind you, ALL INTERVIEWS ARE PUBLIC, with few exceptions, AND EVERYONE CAN HEASR WHAT YOU SAY AND WHAT THE INTERVIEWER IS TELLING YOU. The waiting area is in front of the booths. No privacy whatsoever. Some people were yelled at and... read complete review

Greetings Everyone, Well, here we go, So The 26th my Husband had his 2nd Interview. It is super loud in the waiting are, our process took about 3 hours total. But, due to the noise level we could not hear the consulars calling his name, she said she called us 3 times, but anyways we got there she looked over the paper work and handed me back copies of 2012 taxes, How ever she did not look through them thoroughly, She left out my proof of assets, so I told her wait You will need these as well, the proof of assets and she also took the proof of my bank statements as well. So, Pay Attention and make sure to speak up if you feel they have left something out. Ok so here is the big mistake,My Lawyers turned in the sponosorship with taxes, My TAXABLE INCOME was only 23.900 my salary is like 25,800. Barely over the mark for three people, HOw my lawyers missed this I will never know.. SO remember TAXABLE income People, if you dont have it, put your assets, I was only off by 700.00 to be approv... read complete review

What?! An expiration date!?
My fiancé and I didn't realize (we overlooked it) there was an expiration date on the approval notice. Yes, we know, it was a dumb mistake. We thought we had plenty of time. My fiancé wanted to get his passport and schedule for the interview once he was financially ready. He was ready to proceed with the interview process a few days before Thanksgiving Day. Our Notice of Approval of the K-1 Visa expired on November 17th.
After making several phone calls and emails, we finally were directed to send a request for an extension of the approval to support@ustraveldocs.com. In turn, they turn in our case to the US Consulate in Guatemala. They advised us to check our email and our account on the ustraveldocs.com/gt.
We have been waiting for almost two months and have received no reply from the consulate. I have emailed and called the embassy support several times and they all tell me to wait and that they ... read complete review

Physical Exam...On November the 25th I went with my husband to Dr. Kazali en Guatemala City. The Dr visit was smooth My husband had all of his shots previously so the only one he had to get was the Flu shot. The xrays were quick, but you had to walk across the street and around a corner to get to the hosipital, that was the most confusing part. But the offices were great and super friendly, My husband and I forgot his passport fotos when we went to the doctor office and they were nice enough to let us finish the appointemnet and then come back with them. O and most importantly.. take the exact ammount, they dont like to give back change, eithter Dollars or Quetzales, but be exact. We haggled a little over that part.

We arrived 2 hours early for our interview. The scene in front of the embassy was chaotic. There are 2 lines the short one is for immigrant visas and the long one for all others. We had a little confusion, but soon found ourselves in the immigrant visa line. A few street vendors around trying to mislead you into buying stuff you don’t need. This confuses things because the embassy employees wear street clothes, watch who actually exits the embassy with radio and or computer in hand before Turing over any documents. They only let so many people in the embassy at a time, and give you entry cards. Try to be in the first group for shorter wait times.
The inside is chaotic and loud. Several windows call names, and this is white washed wit the sound of crying children. They call your fiancées name to the biometrics window to get finger printed and then tell you to wait. The finger prints are electronic and only take a few seconds. Try to get a seat close to the interview w... read complete review
