Interview was simple. Few questions were asked about the relationship. We had entered in a lot of proof, and our case had been pending for about 6 months because the beneficiary had been drafted into 9 months of mandatory military service. Apparently the Embassy had time enough to review our case, because the interviewer asked no questions about our relationship other than if we Loved eachother, and if Alex was healthy, as well as our plans.

Due to the autoshow (IAA) going on right now in Frankfurt the Hotel Friedberger Warte has “special” rates for a single: 180 euros (after I mentioned I need to go to the Consulate I was told I could get a discounted rate at 175 euros. What a joke!) So I searched the internet and found a hotel websearch (www.rma.de) for the Frankfurt/Rhein-Main area with pretty good deals. I stayed in a 3-star hotel for 59 euros, very close to the city center, simple but clean and a 10 mins U-Bahn ride away from the Consulate.
My interview was scheduled for 8:00 (Sept. 18) but I actually arrived 10 mins late (due to the breakfast buffet at the hotel which was included in the 59euros). I was 4th in line outside the Consulate compound. I needed to show the proof that I had paid for the Visa (e-mail confirmation by Roskos & Meier) and my passport and then got this ticket number. I could go through the security check immediatley afterwards.
Inside the grand hall I showed my waiti... read complete review

Everything went smoothly at the embassy. The only thing that might be disturbant is the long waiting time. All in all it was a very interesting experience. Everyone was friendly and in the end it was pretty easy.

First of all: Everything went nicely!
The interview was scheduled for 9:30. I was there at 7:50, lined up in the left queue to get a number, then the right queue to get through the security check. After that the standard procedure as it has been described before:
1. Window 22/23 to show a proof of having paid the fee and hand over passport
2. another window to hand over documents
3. being sworn in and the "interview" with two questions: "how did you meet your fiancee" (my answer: work) and "what company was that?"
At 9:30 I left the building :-)
The hotel "Friedberger Warte" is really close, book through ebookers to get a good rate.

The Interview was pretty easy going.
I had my appointment for 8 in the morning.
All went pretty fast.
What kind of surprised me was that the interview took place behind one of those windows. For some reason I figured I would have to go into an extra office room with the officer.
All I got asked was "How long have you two known eachother" and "Where did you two meet".
