I got to the Embassy about 30 minutes prior to my interview. It was at 8:15am and there was a bunch of people waiting outside already. I got in the Non-Immigrant Visa line, which was apparently incorrect. The lady sent me to the other one for "Sonstige Verwaltungsangelegenheiten" (other adminitrative matters), which was good because there was only one person ahead of me. I was handed a number there and then sent through security. I did not have any electronics on me but I did have the CD from my medical with me. They took it from me, handed me a number and told me to pick it up after my interview. Inside the embassy I had to sit down for probably 25 minutes. Then I was called to window #23. The lady at the window spoke german with me and was super friendly. She handed me the sheet that tell you what order to put your documents in. I sat back down waited for about another half hour and was called to window #21. The lady there asked me to verify some information I had given on the sent i... read complete review

Visa interview process went smoothly. Precious arrived for her appointment early, needing the physical, and was sent to a Dr not far from the consulate. Upon review of her packet it was learned that she would require a waiver, but (in a show of good faith) they kept her passport. The waiver was later approved on 26 July 2011 and Precious will be going back for a second interview.

I had my interview on Sept 15. My wife had filed the I-130 on June 24, and on Sept 13 I received the letter with the invitation to the interview.
I had an appointment for 8:30. I reached the consulate at 8:20. The line for non-immigrant visa was quite long, but in my line there were just two people in front of me. I got into the consulate at 8:26.
First up was counter 23, where I was greeted by a nice enough woman, who took my passport and asked me to go pay my visa fee at the next counter (she was German). At the cashier's window, the gentleman clearly only spoke English. I paid my visa fee and went back to window 23, where I had to hand in my receipt. I received a note telling me how to arrange my documents:
- Birth certificate (original and copy)
- Divorce or death decrees (original and copy, where applicable)
- Marriage certificate (original and copy)
- Police certificates (original, in order of residence, Germany la... read complete review

Very easy interview at the consulate in Frankfurt. Just a couple of "random" questions. Fiance was very well prepared, though. In and out of the embassy in less than 90 minutes.
