I was super nervous - for absolutely no reason!
The interview was a breeze! I was in and out in right at an hour, and everybody at the consulate was very nice and friendly!

I had my appointment at 9:15 am and arrived at the gate right at 9 am. There was quite a long line for the non-immigrant visas, but I could skip right by it and go straight to the security check point.

In the consulate we (my fiancé and I) started the process at window 22. My passport and fingerprints were taken, then I was told to sit down and wait for my number to be called.

We sat down for maybe 5-7 minutes when I was called up to the next window (in my case window 20). There, another officer went over my submitted documents and gave me a flyer about domestic violence. (I handed that to my fiancé and told him he might need it down the road :P haha)

We then had to wait for maybe 10 minutes when my name was ... read complete review

All in all it took me just a bit more then an hour. This includes all the different cues you have to wait in and the numbers you have to pull. So it never felt like I had to just sit around and wait for an hour. It wasn't crowded at all. My interview was in english - but the a few interviews in front of me were held in ether German or English. So I guess they just to this randomly and want to see how you react. The interviewer was a nice man - not funny but very polite and he asked reasnoable questions. After all it took around 5-10 minutes.
I stayed at the "Hotel am Turm" and it was really nice and clean and in walking distance - they even have stamps for the envelope there and if you let them know your interview time they make sure you don't have to check out before 12.
So all in all I had a positiv experience.

I, the petitioner also went for the interview. Appt was at 11 am. Reached at 10. Went straight thru after taking token and then security. Paid fees at window 22. Took the passport. Gave the envelope and told us to buy stamps from the vending machine. Had trouble trying figure it out. Meanwhile the lady from window 20 called us and we had to ignore it since we didn't get the stamps during that time. By the time we figured it and went to sit, she called again. explained about the violence against immigrants stuff and explained about getting the visa in the mail. We gave the envelope back to her with the stamps and address on it. Then waited to be called by the officer in window 17. He asked my wife how we met. She said online and officer gestured to hear more. At which she said a little bit more about it. Then asked abt engagement and wedding. after few minutes he said all is good and we are approved and that we would get the visa in a week. Happy after all. Now waiting for the visa to a... read complete review

Hi Everybody, so for those of you who have their interview in Frankfurt, make sure you do not take any electronic device, even your cell phone, cause today I have been sent back after staying in a long line back to the flower shop at the corner of Giessener Strasse, and come back and go in the line all over again. And actually this was the only thing that was bothering. All in all was a good exprience; after the security and finger printing rituals, waited and got my interview, very friendly and understanding.
1. What your fiance does for a living?
2. How did you meet?
3. When do you plan to leave to the US?
4. What's your education and relevant questions about my family background back in my home country as I am not a german citizen?
