The whole case was very smooth. Consulate and officials were always very friendly with a good portion of professionalism. If you follow the guidelines nothing to worry.

My Intervew was scheduled for 7.30. I was a little bit early (6.45) but I was already third in line. The whole procedure didnt even take 45 minutes. First you have to go to the counter (outside) and show them your invitation letter to the Interview. Then go trough a security check similar to a security check at an airport (inside a building). Then go to the next building and go to counter 2x, I don´t remember exactly. The officer speaks german and goes trough all the documents that you have sent them. Didn´t take more than 2 minutes. Officer asked me to take a seat and wait to be called by the officer at the next counter. After 15 minutes the officer called be to her window and explained to me (in german) where I will have to line up at the airport once I am travelling to the US and she told me about how I will receive my Visa after it will be approved.
She asked me to have a seat again and wait to be called by the officer at the next window. After another 15 minutes, the thir... read complete review

I was super nervous - for absolutely no reason!
The interview was a breeze! I was in and out in right at an hour, and everybody at the consulate was very nice and friendly!
I had my appointment at 9:15 am and arrived at the gate right at 9 am. There was quite a long line for the non-immigrant visas, but I could skip right by it and go straight to the security check point.
In the consulate we (my fiancé and I) started the process at window 22. My passport and fingerprints were taken, then I was told to sit down and wait for my number to be called.
We sat down for maybe 5-7 minutes when I was called up to the next window (in my case window 20). There, another officer went over my submitted documents and gave me a flyer about domestic violence. (I handed that to my fiancé and told him he might need it down the road :P haha)
We then had to wait for maybe 10 minutes when my name was ... read complete review

All in all it took me just a bit more then an hour. This includes all the different cues you have to wait in and the numbers you have to pull. So it never felt like I had to just sit around and wait for an hour. It wasn't crowded at all. My interview was in english - but the a few interviews in front of me were held in ether German or English. So I guess they just to this randomly and want to see how you react. The interviewer was a nice man - not funny but very polite and he asked reasnoable questions. After all it took around 5-10 minutes.
I stayed at the "Hotel am Turm" and it was really nice and clean and in walking distance - they even have stamps for the envelope there and if you let them know your interview time they make sure you don't have to check out before 12.
So all in all I had a positiv experience.
