Overall I had an excellent experience with the visa process in Frankfurt. I had an appointment for 9:30 and only arrived there at 9:36 because of a delayed flight. I worried about being late but that did not matter at all. I went through security and made the tours to the different windows until I finally had my interview - which consisted of exactly two questions (in German): 1. How did you meet your fiancee? 2. What does she do for a living? The rest was a nice chat. My medical files had not arrived at the consulate yet (I had the medical 3 days prior to the interview) so my visa request was denied for the moment but will automatically go ahead as soon as the required documents arrive from the doctor. Overall I spent some 90 minutes at the consulate and can only say that everybody there was very friendly and helpful and that the whole process was not as problematic as I thought it would be.

Interview: June 12
We (a friend of mine and I) decided to take public transportation to get to the Consulate to avoid traffic and the hassle of trying to find a parking spot (we saw later that there were a few open spots right across the street from the Consulate though). The subway station Gießener Straße is right around the corner (5-10 Minute walk).
When we walked up to the main entrance of the consulate we saw lots of people waiting in front of it. There were two lines: “non-immigrant visas” (maybe two people were in that line) and “all others” (empty). I was able to give my phone and wallet to my friend and got in the “all others” lane. All I had on me then was my folder. I got called up to the window right away and had to present my passport, the invitation letter and my DS160 print-out. I was then given a ticket with a number on it and asked to enter the Consulate (a glass door to my right). There, I went through security (similar to that at ... read complete review

I went to the consulate, horrified of what might happen. Turns out it was the nicest and quickest experience I could have imagined.
I was allowed to use the immigrant line, so no waiting to get inside the building for me. I was handed my ticket, went through security check and inside the main building. (I read online you're only allowed to bring see through folders, well, I brought my big black folder anyway and didn't have any problem at all).
After getting into the main building I went to the reception and was told to directly go to window 22 to turn in my passport. (Some people sat down to wait for this, however, they won't call your number if you don't go there directly, there is a line for that specific window). I handed the officer my passport and the traveldocs printout and was then told to take a seat until my number was called.
After 5 minutes of waiting a really nice officer called me to her window, took my fingerprints, double c... read complete review

Everything went super quickly and everyone was super nice, they also all spoke German.
Was called to three windows.
First one was to sumit my passport and the traveldoc page.
Second one was to go over everything again to make sure all the info will be correct in the Visa. I was also able to give over my original birth certificate there and change the Home address to where the Green Card should be send to.
Third one was the Interview. Just a few and easy quesiton. Felt more like a nice chat instead of an interview.
The interview guy told me then that everything is accepted and I should expect the Visa with my passport in a week.

Tichi said the interviewer asked him many questions. We assumed by other reviews that this would be a breeze with only a few questions but he really asked many questions. We were approved and they sent us the visa very quickly which was amazing! Very professional and efficient.
