My interview appointment was on November 16th 2015 at 10am.

I had a friend come with me to hold the things I wasn't allowed to bring into the consulate as there is nowhere you can lock those things in.

I was very nervous about the interview since I had an F-1 student visa denied in 2011. Turns out I had no reason to be nervous.

We got there at 9am and there was no line outside to wait in so I went straight up to the window I was called to. The officer ckecked my appointment letter and passport, gave me a ticket with a number on it and told me to go trough security. Since I had already given my friend everything I wasn't supposed to bring it was quick and easy. I only had my documents in a bag. I was told to take my watch off and put in a bag. I got to put it back on in the next building where the interviews take place.

The lady at the front desk told me where to go and I had to wait to be called to window 21.

My appointment was September 15th at 8:15am.

Prior to my appointment, we were so nervous about getting there on time we even did a "test run" a few times.

Turns out, it was super easy to get consulate!! So easy in fact, we got there around 7:20am...

Anywhosies. Everyone at the entrance was so amazingly friendly. Everything ran completely smooth and everything was perfectly explained.

Things to consider, if your american fiancee is coming to the appointment with you, make sure he/she brings his/her american passport. Also no electronics!

There was absolutely no problem with my fiancee coming in with me. There was also no problem that we came nearly an hour earlier, no one cared.

Went through the process and the last step was waiting to talk to the officer. Everyone so far had made us feel extremely calm, they were all very friendly, even making jokes!

Our interviewing officer was ... read complete review

Today I had my interview.
Of course the day before I was really nervous. What happens to most of us I guess.
I had my appointment at 0745 in the morning and was going to the entrance about 20 min before that time.
There were already a bunch of people waiting to get called.
After 15 min waiting time I went through the security check ( like on the airport) and had to go to the next building.
After taking fingerprints I got called to the 1st counter. The friendly lady explained me how the visa envelope will look like and a few other helpful information .
After another 15 min I got called to the officer who was asking me about 6 questions.
Of course everything went well and he gave me the information that we are approved and that I should receive my visa envelope in about a week. Yay :-) I'm soo glad and can't wait for the deutsche post now ;-)

Our Interview appointment was at 9:45am and we got there at around 9:10am.
There was a small line outside the entrance but it wasn't too bad. After showing them the interview appointment confirmation page and our passports,
we got my number and a visitor card for my fiance from window 1 (it didn't matter which window, there was only one line at the time).
After that we had to go through security.
After passing that, we had to go through a courtyard to the next building where a receptionist guided us to the first window, which was the cashier. (window 22). Since the fees were already paid, the lady at the window took my passport and told us to find a seat and wait for our number to be called up.
After the number was called up, we had to go to a different window (21), where another lady took fingerprints, checked personal data from the ds-160 before she explained the procedure and also showed us how the sealed package looks like.
After some more... read complete review
