The interview was scheduled for 7:30 today, we arrived at 7 and were first in line. At 7:30 they started checking people's paperwork. We went to the window outside, got the sticker for the passport and our number, and were sent through security. Security was quick, only took a couple of minutes. It took longer for people who wore belts, brought their phones, or anything else they tell you not to bring. Once through security we walked to the main building and spoke with the person at the front desk who directed us to the cashier at window 22 to pay our final fees (since we applied DCF). The man at the cashier booth was friendly, took my husband's passport and put it with his file, then told us to take a seat and wait for our number to flash on the screen to know which window to go to. A few (maybe 10) minutes later we were called up to window 21, where the caseworker (a pleasant German lady) went over the basic info on the DS-260 with my husband, then said for us to take a seat and we'd... read complete review

Good experience. Everyone was friendly and nice, the interview took maybe ten minutes. I didn’t have to wait too long, however, the line in front of the building was long and I had to wait for 45 mind to get through security. Would advise to take original documents to the appointment, if you have not sent them in with P3. I did not send my original birth certificate, and had to send in the original after the interview. The lady said I should have been informed, but she saw in the system that I wasn’t. I send a copy of the certificate, with a translation.
It was a good experience.

The embassy was well organized, and the officers (and all staff) were friendly. The entire process was smooth and we were told on the spot that we were approved. Very good experience all around.

First of all, as most others have said before: They are super friendly there and the interview is way easier than expected!

I had my interview appointment scheduled for 8:30 on February 4th, 2020.
I arrived at the consulate at around 7:50 and maybe waited like 15 min outside to get to the first window. The lady there just wanted my passport and DS-160 confirmation page. She then checked my name on a list, put a sticker on my passport, gave me a number and send me to another entry where I had to go through the security check. Which maybe took like 5 min.

Once I was through the security check, I followed the path outside to the next building, where a man at an information desk checks your passport and then tells you to which window you have to go to check in. For me it was window 22. I maybe waited like two minutes before it was my turn there. The man at this window checked my name on a list, opened my file with all the documents submitted in the past... read complete review

Waited outside the Consulate for approximately 45 minutes. Once inside went through security and then outside again to the main consular atrium. We were directed to the payment window as we are a DCF case. Once paid we were called to a document review station, where additional documents can be added to the case.

After the documents were reviewed, we sat down again and awaited to see the consular Officer, which was at a window. Once our number was called, we went to the designated window, took an oath and was asked some minor questions:
How did we meet?
When did we meet face to face?
Who the I-864 joint sponsor is?
How long has the petitioner lived in Germany?

After review, we were told the visa will be issued once the medical exam reaches the consulate.

All persons were very friendly and super kind to us.
