Staff was very friendly and helpful. I had my interview at 7:30 arrived at 7:15 and was done with everything at 8:20.
All my documents where in order. The only paper they requested was a copy of my I-407 (since I had a previous green card).
As for the questions:
-how and where did you meet your fiancé?
-so he was stationed in Germany?
-is he still in the military?
-what does he do now for a living?
-what do I wanna do work wise once I get to the stats?
-when was the last time we’ve seen each other in person?
-how often do we keep in touch?
-have either of us been married before?
-does either of us have kids?
-where in the us will I move too and when?
-what plans we have for our wedding?

Friendly stuff, but long waiting times.
I scheduled my interview for the 24th January 2022 for 8:30 am. I pretty much arrived 45 minutes earlier, but noticed the already long waiting line in front of the embassy. The arrival is pretty easy, nothing you can actually do. You can see 2 waiting lines ( 1 for visa applicants and 1 for citizens). Take your time, patience is the key till you reach the first counter to validate your confirmation of a visa appointment. The person asks for your passport and your visa appointment confirmation.
Afterwards you get everything back with a piece of paper, it also indicates your code to call you out. It also directs you where you have to go first inside the embassy (counter 22, specifically for paying or getting your case moving so you can actually get called out). Counter 22 validates your payment and your visa interview, by forwarding your case folder to the next counter. You pretty much take your seat and wait for your... read complete review

Total time was around 2 1/2 hours, interview itself was very short and simple, less than ten minutes. Overall it was a good experience.

The experience at the US Consulate in Montreal was great. Everything is well organized, and even though there were a few people waiting, it did not take long at all to get called for the first time to provide the documents. Everyone was friendly and patient.
Here are all the steps I went through as well as a list of questions and documents that I needed. I brought way more than this, but that's all they wanted from me:
When you arrive at the consulate:
- Don’t bring a backpack, only a binder with your documents
- The receptionist checks the passport and confirms the appointment, then gives two tickets with the same number
- Jackets, binder, phone, watch (everything) gets scanned like they would at the airport
- You walk through a scanner as well
- Phone, keys, and the watch stay behind in a little locker
- You take the elevator to the first floor and wait for them to call your number or for it to appear on ... read complete review
