My husband had his IR-1/CR-1 visa interview on June 21, 2011 at 1PM. He entered the Paris embassy at 12:50 and was out by 3PM. There were three "stages" once inside.
At the first stage, they took his appointment letter and the number assigned when he entered.
At the second stage, they asked for updated civil documents (only necessary if expired). They also asked if the passport photos he brought were different from the ones sent to the NVC (they weren't), and expressed some doubt about the quality of the photos. They said they would leave the decision up to the CO, who apparently thought they were good enough, since the original NVC photos were used. [On a side note, the photos were taken by a professional photographer in Lyon who was on the list provided by the embassy, but he was totally incompetent and my husband had to personally resize them to meet U.S. standards.] The person at the second stage also asked my husband how long he lived in the U.K. (8... read complete review

Shortly before 9:30, so I headed to the office of Dr. Slattery (very nice). The secretary took care of me right away, some paperwork anything very long. She needs the passport and health card and a photo ID. A few minutes of patience in the waiting room and the doctor picked me up. He looks if my vaccinations are up to date, a few questions, he weighs me, measures me, looks at my eyes, my teeth, my stomach ... a routine visit. After that, I went to the lab across the street to the analysis of blood. Then, three blocks away towards the radiology for chest X-ray, They gave it to me right away. Everything is ok, I left and I returned to 3pm with the chest X-ray .I gave them to the Secretary and I again waited in the waiting room. She returned minutes later with all documents, including the famous closed envelope which should not be opened. I know it may seem a little hassle of having to go to three different locations for all examinations and having to return later in the day to retrie... read complete review

We arrived at the Embassy about 15 minutes before our interview (it was at 13h00). Got a ticket from someone at the entrance because the ticket dispenser wasn't working.
We sat down and about 1:15 our number was called and I went to guichet 20 to pay the 400 bucks. We sat down and waited another thirty minutes or so and we were called again. This time the person took all the documents requested in Packet 4. Told us what we would expect if the visa was issued, how to waive the condition on it etc. We then sat down again and waited another thirty minutes or so.
This time we met the Consular, she looked at all the papers. Asked me two questions (I'm the USC); Were you a student this year? (I wasn't, I was an assistant de langue) and then "Are you going to work next year in America?" My wife and I worked hard to go over all the questions in the interview guide on this website. It was so funny that after all that work, all the questions were directed to... read complete review

Before having my date of interview, i got worried because i didn't receive the packet 4. After having faxed them, they called me back on Friday, May 13 (24 hours later) to tell me that the interview would take place on May 26. And they told me that i should receive the packet 4 soon because they sent it Saturday, May 7.
On May 17 i faxed them to tell that i didn't receive any mail?! The next day, they called me to tell me that if i didn't received the packet 4 i could come to the embassy without the letter of convocation ![](smile.gif)
So, the D-Day i went to the embassy, told the Security Guard that i have my interview today but i cannot show him my letter because i didn't receive it. Thus, he checked my passport, went inside and came back few minutes later to tell me to go inside.
Then, the woman at the reception gave me a ticket and 5 minutes later i went to the window where a woman spoke to me in french and asked me my passport. Then she told me to get bac... read complete review
