My fiancé arrived outside the embassy around 12:30 for her 12:55 appointment and like most other reviews I've read here, she was asked to wait across the street in the park, which she did. When she started to notice a queue gathering closer to the time, she went back to the door, and the officer waved her forward to the front of the line since she had been there first.

Inside, she of course went through security and was given a number. She sat down and was called to the first window within 5 minutes. The woman was not friendly, but not unfriendly either. Just seemingly uninspired by her job -- I can imagine. She sat down again and was called to the second window within another 5 minutes. This woman was nicer, took her paperwork, and told her they did not need to see any of the other documents she had brought (we prepared a TON of additional Evidence of Ongoing Relationship since our interview was almost a year after we submitted our initial application). But ... read complete review

We had our immigration visa interview Jan 28, 2016. There are a few steps. First, you arrive and might have to wait outside the consulate (across the street even) until they let you in, so dress appropriately. If you're hungry, eat something beforehand because they don't let you bring food in, even candy bars. There are vending machines inside though.
Also, bring something to read because they take *everything* electronic and dangerous (lip gloss!) from you when you enter the consulate.
Once you enter the main building after security, you take a number and wait in the waiting room. When they call your number, the first clerk just takes your convocation and makes sure you registered on the visainfo site. Then you wait again. This clerk was pretty cold.
The second time your number gets called, you meet with a clerk who has all the paperwork you sent to the NVC. She collects copies of any original documents that you sent copies of to the NVC. In our case, we ... read complete review

He had the option to speak in French or English and chose French just to make sure he didn't mess anything up

He spoke with two people; the first was a woman who took his documents; she asked him just a few questions. Then, he had the interview with the actual consul.

(I'm posting these questions as they were phrased to him -- "you/your" refers to my fiancé, and "your fiancée refers to me, the US sponsor of his application.)

1. What is your job?
2. Where do you live?
3. Where is your fiancée live?
4. When did you and your fiancée meet?
5. How long have you and your fiancée been together?
6. When did you first meet your fiancée in person?
7. When and where is the last time you met your fiancée in person.
8. Did you ever live with your fiancée?
9. Did you already buy your plane ticket?
10. When are you and your fiancée going to get married?

I, the USC, attended with my husband. I did not need to do anything other than show up with my passport and his letter. At entry they asked me to confirm that I was the petitioner. We came to the embassy about 45 minutes before his appointment and we waited in a line with others until about 15 min before 1pm (our appt time) before they let us in to security.
Once inside we took a number and waited. The first time we were called was just to take our number and the first page of the interview letter we had received - this lady was rude and short but by far the worst we saw all day thankfully.
The second time we were called was to provide originals of documents we sent to the NVC. She wanted originals of his birth certificate, our marriage certificate, his police certificate (casier judiciare). She also wanted the copy of the ds-260 completion and the email indicating we had registered our appointment with usvisainfo. She also asked if I wanted to update anything in... read complete review
