We had a positive exeprience with an approval after a 14 month (approx) process. However, we had a few bumps in the road at the consular level.
The embassy approved an expedite request out of NVC. I waited a couple of weeks to see if my husband would get a local letter for his appointment. Nothing happened. I e-mailed the embassy and received a self-scheduling calendar.
Husband arrived based on that scheduling system and confirmation, but we discovered the schedulers and the actual embassy employees had not converged/spoken about the apppontment. Big mess! Big! However, on the sunny side when I called and asked (urgently) for a person to correct this, an employee scheduled him for the next available slot 2 weeks later. Readers, this was an emotional few days!
Husband received a preparatory call from
an embassy analyst to make sure his file was in order and to speak a little about the calendar snafu.
His appointment was... read complete review

My interview was at 11:15am but I got there at 10:50am and was allowed to go in right away. There was a first checkpoint where the lady looked at my passport, DS160 confirmation page, « casier judiciaire », 2 photos 5x5, confirmation page that I received in my emails after booking my interview. Then I had to give them my phone and liquids that were in my bag.
I was directed inside where I had to wait in line standing up (no seats). I waited for 15 minutes and talked with a very nice French lady who checked my paperwork. She needed my birth certificate + the papers that the first person checked at the entrance. She gave me a copy of my I-129F from approved. Everything was in order so I waited in a second line for 30 minutes (still no seats lol) to do the actual interview with an American officer. They can speak French and English with you. I spoke in English.
He asked me 4 super easy questions: what are you going to do in America, where did you meet and how ... read complete review

I have had overall a very good experience at the US Paris embassy.
my appointment was at 11am, so I arrived 5 minutes earlier. Before even getting into the building I was asked for my passport and a few documents by an officer at the gate (this was apparently just to put the documents in a certain order), then when entering you have to go through security (they keep the keys and phones, and will gave them back to you when you leave). Once in the consulate I was directed to a first window where I gave the requested documents, my passport, to a nice lady (she was French, and so we were talking in French) and she gave me back the huuuge packet we filed for the K1.
After that I had to wait in line (no sitting) for the actual interview with an american immigration officer... There were only 2 people before me. And then it was my turn. Well the officer, once again, was a very nice lady, she has me raise my right hand and swear to tell the truth. She asked me a few very basic qu... read complete review
