I have had overall a very good experience at the US Paris embassy.
my appointment was at 11am, so I arrived 5 minutes earlier. Before even getting into the building I was asked for my passport and a few documents by an officer at the gate (this was apparently just to put the documents in a certain order), then when entering you have to go through security (they keep the keys and phones, and will gave them back to you when you leave). Once in the consulate I was directed to a first window where I gave the requested documents, my passport, to a nice lady (she was French, and so we were talking in French) and she gave me back the huuuge packet we filed for the K1.
After that I had to wait in line (no sitting) for the actual interview with an american immigration officer... There were only 2 people before me. And then it was my turn. Well the officer, once again, was a very nice lady, she has me raise my right hand and swear to tell the truth. She asked me a few very basic questions:
-How and when did you meet? (since we met through a website to practice foreign languages and learn about other cultures, she wanted to know more about it, and asked if I would recommend it to friends, to people in general)
-How many times did you visit each other? When?
-Do you know his family, does he know yours?
-Did both of your families already met?
She complimented me on my English (which I was very proud!) and told me I was approved! and that I should receive the visa package and passport in a few days.
I was light-hearted when I left the embassy, it felt great! I of course didn't forget to get my keys and my cellphone back...Before heading back to work (living and working in Paris has its perks sometimes)
