Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Tamer got there early (he attended the interview alone). He was the first one to enter the embassy there for CR1. He took so much extra paperwork with him, they searched his bag more. Once in the embassy he was 3rd number, he was 503. He took a seat and was afraid to get up because someone else would get his seat. He went to first window with egyptian woman, quiet and gentle, asked where you meet your wife and how long have you been married? Did you marry before or has your wife been married before, then asked for original divorce papers. She also looked at his military papers and commented he looked older in military than now. Then asked to go pay dhl and gave another paper about me and him. He went to sit back down till they called his number again. DHl was 75 LE. He made sure it could be sent to his sisters address since he was staying there with her in Cairo.

After 20 min they called his number again for fingerprints (american woman). Very nice and it was ... read complete review

We arrived at the Embassy in Cairo about 7:15 am, showed them our interview letter (they wrote t2 on our letter) and we waited in line and was finally let in about 30 minutes later. We handed over our electronics, scanned for metal and our bags were x-rayed and we finally proceeded to the Immigration Section of the Embassy. We were number 512 out of 500-527.

We were called to the window 3 times, the first at 8:30 the lady was serious and she asked for my husbands passport, medical exam and 2 American passport pictures. She then asked if he understood the IV Application and if anyone assisted him in filling it out. She returned my bank statements, the ones I submitted with my AOS. She also asked us if we have ever been married before or have any children. Finally she gave us a DHL invoice and a contact information sheet. We paid 75 Egyptian Pounds for the DHL and then waited.

The Second time we were called to the window at 9:15, the lady took elect... read complete review

We arrived at the Embassy at 7:10am where there was a long line outside. A man came to us and asked for the appointment letter my hubby handed it to him and he signed it and gave it back. Then another man came to us and told us to turn off our cell phones. Then another man came to us and looked at the signed appointment paper and moved us up in the line closer to the entry door. If you are standing in front of the U.S. Embassy doors you will go to the line on the left. It would be best to get there at 6:30am because alot of people are there for other things your wait will be shorter. We waited until another man told us to go inside. When we entered this is where they took all of our electronics and gave us a number to collect them on our way out. We went through the security process then out the door and to the right to the chairs outside where you sit until the security guard tells you to enter. Then we went to the next line at a podium and they gave us a number then we sat ... read complete review
