My husband's interview appointment was set for 7:30am on November 13, 2011. We wanted to postpone the appointment. We had requested to delay it through an email because we hadn't completed the medical exam, not to mention I have moved to Egypt.
We arrived for the appointment around 8:00am. There was a line of approximately 50 to 70 people ahead of us. lol... Fortunately we were not really late, as it's first come first served. There were also plenty of people to come after us. I think we waited in line for approximately 2 hours with a lot of other anxious but patient people. When we were getting close to the enterence, we kept seeing people coming out smiling. That was good to see! Finally we made it to the man toward the front of the enterence, he checked my husband's printed appointment page (Don't forget to print this and bring it with you to your appointment).
We went through the security screening process and left our cell phones and camera in exch... read complete review

We arrived way early because there was no traffic. There is sorta of no place to park without getting a parking ticket so just be prepared to deal with it later on. We got there at 5:45am and were 1st in line then 10 minutes later people started arriving. There are Police & Military soldiers securing the entire neighborhood. They don't communicate so the Military soldiers moved us to a side street because they were afraid the US ambassador or someone will see the line. anyways we stayed at the side street for about an hour then they moved us back along the embassy at 7:05am. at 7:15am, An embassy employee came out and divided the lines into 2 lines (immigrant and non immigrant visas).
We were still the 1st in line, (when they moved us to the side street, some people tried to pull a fast one and cut ahead of us or ahead of other people so beware).
When you go in they will check your bags and what not they will take away your cellphones, laptops..etc. and ... read complete review

We got approved . The interview was pretty simple. We got their at 6:10 am, and waited for them to open. We ended up being the first ones in line for immigrant visas. They called us for our interview at around 8:45. The lady interviewing us was presumably a Hawaiian woman. The woman said "Good Morning" then she asked " Where did you two meet?" Then my husband, and I told her the story of how we met and how he came to visit me several times. Then she asked why we got married in Reno, NV, and if we lived there. There was at one time where she didn't say anything, and just started typing some things for quiet a few minutes, which made us really nervous, and then she took some of our papers to someone else, and asked her something. She then asked my husband "Are you finished with your college in the US now?" "Are you both the same age?" we answered we are 4 years apart, he is 26, and I am 22. "Where do you both live?" we answered that we both lived in Cairo together. Th... read complete review

Hassan's interview was at 7:30 am. He was interviewed by an American woman, who was very nice. She asked him these questions:
How did you meet your fiance?
Were you married before? Do you have children?
Was your fiance married before? Does she have children?
What will you do in the United States?
Why doesn't your fiance want to live in Egypt?
Then she asked to see our Skype calls log and looked at our wedding invitation.
She said congratulations on your visa, everything is fine except we need your police certificate from Italy.
So now Hassan is working on the paperwork to get that document sent from Italy. Hopefully that won't take long!! We are so close to being done!

I was with my husband for the interview. The CO was a young American man, very polite, sort of friendly, asked me more questions at first than my husband! We are both Muslim (I wear hijab) and CO asked my husband is his family in agreement with him marrying someone of his own choice not born in Egypt. My husband said that his family isn't doesn't follow 'arranged' marriages, all his siblings chose their own spouses. CO looked at our photos, skype records, my airline tickets and photos with his family, commented he liked some of our photos. He said he "believes we have a valid marriage, but AP is a requirement that he can't avoid, but he will try to have it done as soon as possible". My husband was in AP for 12 weeks, embassy finally called him to bring his passport and got the visa. Not SO bad compared to other people.
