My husband had his visa interview today, Jan 22 here in Cairo. We arrived about 6:50-7AM and after realizing that there were 2 lines, he wentright inside. It'struethat they're not letting the American spouses in, which is really ridiculous and unfair but maybe in my case it was for the better, since i get nervous during interviews! He finished around 10:30AM so he was in there for only a short period of time.
Well, we GOTTHE VISA! the arabic lady who took his fingerprints was very nice and even joked and winked with him! (i think she must have had a crush on him lol, since from what i've heard she's a bitch to everyone) and complimented him on his correct papers.
The interviewer was an Indian-American lady. It only took about 10 minutes. She asked him questions such as:
was she married before?
how did you meet her? (this question provided to be his only sticky moment, as he said MSN messenger which was true but then she asked him "how did you meet on msn mes... read complete review

The interview at the Embassy in Cairo was a stressful experience for the immigrant visa . Arrived at 7:00A.M. and left the Embassy at 1:30 P.M.. They gave me a number and did not call me to the window , by name as it said in the website.I had to go to 2 different windows and speak and answer a few questions. i had to pay DHL $75.00 that same day at the Embassy , so that the Embassy can mail my passport and visa to me . They told me that my visa has been approved and it will take about 1 month to receive it because they are very busy now and have lots of cases . We were married in March 2010 and began the petition in April . It is now January 2012 and have waited for this process to complete for 9 months now . THIS IS A HUGE BURDEN TO CARRY , WAITING AND WORRYING . I wish and hope and pray that , in the future , cases are able to be processed quicker and more efficient. But I thank God that I have been approved .

Husband was at embassy at 7am in a suit and tie. So handsome! and there were 100 people in a line waiting. My daughter and I were with him but they said there is a new rule of no american petitioners allowed inside the embassy and the beneficiary has to go alone. We walked back to the SHepheard Hotel and waited 4 hours and 45 mihnutes for his return.
He went into embassy at 735am He was number 628. He waited 2 hours to be called to egyptian lady speaking arabic. His papers were in a yellow folder and a yellow sheet of paper was on top

My husband had his interview @ 7:30am. He arrived (alone) way too early, the embassy opened at 7:00. Around 6:30 am, people started to gather in front of the US embassy. Essam was the second person to walk in, his number was 501. He walked in around 7:20am and was finished around 10:00am. First, he met with an Egyptian lady that checked all his documents and gave him back the originals. After that he was told to go get finger printed. It was a really nice American lady that spoke Arabic to him. Then he was told to pay for DHL and wait for his number to be called. From what he said our file was in red folder which was different from all the other folders he saw. Someone started to call out numbers starting with 500. My husband was 501 however, his number was skiped. After 500, then they called 502,3,4...all the way this 25 and finally his number was called 501. He was a bit nervous not knowing why he has been skipped and our file was in red folder. Once his number was call... read complete review
