As another reviewer said, "what do we pay these people to do?"
Communication with the embassy is impossible, they only answer every inquiry with "please note... we have nothing to tell you." Their "process" is completely and frustratingly opaque. They never update their website, and even when they update it, there are errors. They actually updated January's interview schedule, but we were not on it, so imagine how surprised we were when we discovered that our interview was indeed schedule in January! So I would not advise people to put to much trust in what the embassy says on their website.
My fiance's interview was blessedly short and he was not asked any of the hard questions we expected, and yet the interviewer was rude, curt, and condescending. My fiance misunderstood the interviewer when he asked for two copies of one document and one copy of another, and my fiance gave him one copy of each. That was when the rudeness began, as the interviewer said ... read complete review

10 months of AP have gone by-- 10 long long months. Through all the hell, snide communications or lack there of communications, we have finally come to the end of our relationship with this unhelpful embassy. The person that enters the email could not be any more rude. Furthermore, the email has been backlogged and unable to receive messages for 4 days now. The website has not been updated in 2 months+ even though we now have our visa in hand.
To top off our experience, the jerks didn't look at any of our paperwork and mailed our visa, passport, and information to the wrong address-- the old address in the passport. Seriously??? Thats the best you can do Egypt Consulate? What did I pay these people to do????
Well...we have the visa. So in light of that, I'll give them a final rating of 1.

My fiancé had a very tough interview. He said that while he was interviewing, the interviewer beside his interiewer finished interviewing two people with a third getting ready to interview.
The interviewer had really read all the information I submitted in the first packet. He did not seem to have reviewed any of the packet my fiancé sent in before the interview. However, there was enough information to create quite a lively exchange of information.
I'll provide red flags, so it might help: 11+ years difference, different religions, and he'd been married before to a citizen of another western country. My fiancé said our interviewer asked every question he could think of related to his previous marriage, our friendship turned relationship, family...
I think that sometimes when the interviewer senses red flags, they question hard to see if there is a chink in the armor. That's what happened with us. Thankfully my fiancé speaks Eng... read complete review

Ahmed said the officer was rude, but we expected that, the officer tried to twist his words around on him on a couple of questions but I think ahmed answered appropriately and kept his calm and was polite even when officer was not. for instance the officer asked him how we met…ahmed told him he had a friend in the USA and about how i been long time friends with this friends’ wife and so on, told him the complete truth how we met, the officer accused him wanting to come the USA just to come to the USA, ahmed told him “i want to be with her, where ever she lives, she lives in united states I want to be with her” he quickly moved on to the next question after that.
He asked about what kind of work I did. The CO also asked when I got divorced and when ahmed met me, the CO harassed him little over that about him starting a relationship with me when I was still legally married ( I was separated and filed for divorce when I met ahmed and my papers were finalized 2 months af... read complete review
