The interview was over very quickly much to my shock! At the first window, a lady sorted through my paperwork asking me a question here and there and asking me for various paperwork that she needed. This took around 20 minutes. Then I went to another window for my "interview" which consisted of perhaps three questions:
1) You've been married since November 2014 right?
2) What do you both plan to do in the US?
3) Where do you plan to live?
After all this, she said "Right, you're set!". I was like...."Huh?" to which she replied - "You're good to go. It takes around a week or 5 business days and we'll email you to pick up your passport!".
Not what I was expecting at all! Very smooth and easy!

The Cyprus embassy staff was extremely helpful and nice throughout the process. I had emailed to request an appointment rescheduling due to prearranged travels and was able to reschedule as soon as the Embassy received the immigrant package from the NVC.
The actual interview was very quick as all documentation provided were OK and the visa was issued the next business day. I had to physically pick it up and it took about 20 minutes.

I don't believe my experience with the consulate was at all normal. I am the US citizen filer. We never did get to the interview and have focused now on a different country.
However I want to warn any women beneficiaries. The woman who was in charge of our k1 visa case sent someone out to check/interrogate my fiancée. This so called investigator was, I'm being nice, was a creep! I believe this guy was a corrupt policeman from the Limassol police department.
So in short if the beneficiary is a woman, especially of Russian of East European origin, be careful.

Our interview went off well, after I ran out to get paperwork, then he ran out to get paperwork. They gave us a date to come pick up the visa. They even corrected his name for the visa then we stayed to be witnesses for another couple on a document signing. We were there appx. 15 to 20 minutes.
