I arrived at the Consulate about 9:45am for my 10am appointment. I showed the security guard my interview letter and he allowed me to be the first in the door ahead of the long line up. The first two ladies you meet check you bags and stuff and then you are escorted by another security guard to the 20th floor in the elevator. From there you go through security again and then are directed to the this small room where there are about 5 wickets/windows. They give you a checklist of things they want in order and then they call you to the window ask for the forms. I was all flustered cause I had my stack of evidence and support of relationship she didnt want to see any of that she just wanted the checklist items. After that you wait again. About 20-30 minutes later she came back and told me to go down the hall to another window and have my finger prints taken. Then you sit back where you were and wait somemore. Finally the consular officer who was very nice called me up asked how I met my f... read complete review

No problems, interview lasted less than 5 minutes.
Arrived at 0700 was let in at 0730, security ok, did not bring anything but accordian folder and wallet.
New system iniated, so VJ guides were not correct...was a bit confusing for me!!
Pick up of visa, no problems.

I got there sometime between 9:30 and 9:40 for my 10am appointment. There were several lines(9:30 appointments, 10am appointments, US citizens) and thanks to VJ I knew that I didn't have to wait in them, but I still wasn't sure what to do. There were no security guards outside, which I was expecting, so I stood in front of the doors and gestured to the guard with my passport and letter and he waved me in. Security was just like an airport, empty the pockets, take off you belt, coat, that sort of stuff. They went through my file folder/organizer thing pretty throughly and the one guard made a really big point of telling me not to open my medical report, even if someone tells me to. I heard him telling this to the K1 couple who came in after me. Not sure who they think would tell us to open the medical, but whatever.
After this you go up a flight of stairs and a guard will get the elevator for you. On the 20th floor you go through security again, same deal as before. The g... read complete review

I thought they were quick, professional, and very nice! The interviewer had us laughing after too long, and we actually had Eric's K1 visa in hand before noon. We were back on the train before 1PM, headed back to his house.

I arrived at the consulate about 20 minutes early, and went to the front of the line. They let me right in, which ended up being great, since I was the first one there, and 1st to be processed.
There are two security checkpoints –much like at the airport. I had everything in one clear zip up folder and it was easy to search. Security took no time. One checkpoint is at the entrance, and one is when you get off the elevator.
Then you are told to wait in this narrow little hallway with 4 chairs, facing a counter. There are tons of people waiting for other visas, but the K visas wait around the corner.
They give you a paper with directions to put your documents in a specific order, and then they call you up to go through everything. She keeps all the originals at this point, but they give them back to you (except the RCMP report) after the interview and keep the photocopies (I had provided them).
She will ask you to go down the ... read complete review
