Review Topic: K3 Visa

We didn't get to Montreal until 3 am and had to be up for 6:00 for my appointment.

The consulate experience itself was wonderful. We did a lot of waiting...4 hours to be exact and all it was, was two ten minute meetings. Visa will be sent express post with my passport. (They attach the visa to the passport) The first meeting was simply taking my fingerprints and more passport size photos. I gave them my medical and then was ask to wait some more. The second meeting both my interpreter and I had to swear to tell the truth and he was told as my interpreter he could only repeat the questions if I asked him to and he was not to answer any of them. I was asked how we met, what my hubby does for a living, how many times he's been married, how many times I've been married, they asked me about his kids and then mine. They asked if I had medical insurance in the US. The last question was the last time I saw him All in all it was very pleasant and both people were very patient ... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Hi Folks,
I am a Canadian Citizen and my husband an American Citizen. My IR1 immigrant visa was turned down because my husband US Domicile. They want an actual job offer and not job search. We have been living here in Canada for 5 years. Now my husband already got a job offer and will be starting next month. Can I accompany him to USA next month to look for apartment and arrange everything and come back to Canada wait here. Will I have any problem at the Port Of Entry. I heard that if your visa is still pending then you will be turned away at the POE.

Thanks
Shaloma

Wonderful...the Vancouver embassy staff are the greastest..they are helpful, willing to assist you in the process, offer words of advice. they made the whole long day less painful!!

Take the skytrain from the airport to downtown(waterfront) only 3.75 but if you wanna pay the 45.00 buck cab ride go ahead!! stayed at the Days Inn downtown..petty basic but close to the working medical(10 min walk) and the embassy..and was under a $100.00 for the night..they will allow late check outs at no extra costs and look after your bags while your running around liek liek a headless chicken!!

There was only 3 people interviewing the place was empty..just us laughing and cracking jokes to make the time go by..overall the interview process was easy..thank god!!

got there at 1 pm was done by 3 pm..out of the door with a smile on my face...

It was 6 when we left our hotel room in that cold day...(minus 2 degres celcius)
Our hotel was really close from the consulate...about 5 mins

http://www.hotelcentreville.com/index_fr.asp

it was nice and cost less than 200$ for 2 night...
(ill make a post later about it with picture of our room)

as we arrived there we saw 2 other members of VJ ... but since they don't troll the forum i can't say their names...
the security open the door just about 15 min before 8 am and there was about 10 people waiting with us...
we entered 3rd and went through the security

i will skip cause that part is boring and basicly resume into..(waiting!)
around 8 am someone called us at booth 9 and something people forgot to mention or i just probably never read it...
YOU Will have to stand the whole time at a window.. and even in the interview there ... read complete review

Well my husband and I arrived early 6:15 there was already one woman in line (she too was also a VJ member) a few minutes later people started arriving, so thankyou to everyone on here we had heads-up on the timing.
There's a small coffee shop right at the same corner of the street so some of us went in at differant times to get a coffee and warm up (it was so cold)washrooms are also available next to the coffee shop.
The door for the consulate opened at 7:30 the guard let us in the first glass doorways and gave us a Letter, mine was A, then he directed us to go thru the second set of glass doors, there we were asked to remove our coats and gloves(putting them in a plastic box to be put thru a scanner) it's the same as if you were in an airport)in a second plastic box you put anything like purses wallet etc and that too goes thru the scanner. Then they will ask you to walk thru a scanning device(again it looks just like the airport ones)
After your finished with ... read complete review
