We got to the consulate at 6:45 am and were the first people in line. By 7 am the line was about 10 people. We were in the consulate by 8:30 am. I would advise getting there by 7 am because the line up is huge after 7:30 am!

The interview was quick, about 5 minutes. The officer asked us when we met and where, what my fiance was doing for employment and what my future plans were. He didn't look at any of our evidence of relationship. He was really nice and made jokes about Chicago White Sox to my fiance.

The only stressful part was having to pay a new fee that went into effect that day for the K1 Visa.

I don't live in Vancouver so I had booked my medical exam the same day as my interview. My medical was scheduled for 6:30am June 2 and my interview was at 1pm. Apparently this particular medical centre only schedules immigration exams on Wednesdays. So I lucked out with my interview being on the same day.

I arrived at the medical centre at 6:15am and the doors were locked, someone had to come open them for me. There is alot of waiting around at throughout the day, so this is only the beginning. You have to go up to the second floor, but make sure you try to be at the front of the elevator doors so you can get a good number. I was number 22 and this number I was stuck with the rest of the medical exam. Firstly you have to fill out some papers, next you go for your blood test. Of course you have to wait until your number is called so there's more waiting. The blood test was probably the worst part. You're sitting next to everyone else that's getting their blood ... read complete review

I got on the road by 4:45am from Sherbrooke.. Got in the Montreal area by 6am, a little bit of traffic already but i wasn't stuck in there for too long. By 6:20am, i find the consulate... But now i had to find a parking.. So i circle 2-3 times around the basements, ask some people where i can park (maybe i was too stressed for the interview i couldn't read the signs well!). I finally find a parking for 16$/day. So i get in there... but there was no ticket to get, no security guard, and even if i wanted to get out of there i couldn't exit because the security guard has to open the door!!! So for 15 minutes i get angry and stressed, and i decide to leave my car in the parking and leave the building. I get to the Lobby of the building, find a guard there, and ask him about the parking.. and everything was ok he told me i can just pay when i come back after the interview So i start running and try to find St-Alexandre street (as my orientation is not the best!)... I fin... read complete review

Arrived at 6:45am. One other person was in line. It was a beautiful, warm, sunny day!. After approx 20 mins more people arrived. We all lined up behind the left door. My husband and I received letter B by the guard and proceeded up the 4 stairs to another guard. We had to remove everything from our pockets. The guard kept cigarettes and lighter and gave us a ticket to get them back. We go down the 20 or so steps to the elevator. There we waited about 5 mins and a guard called letters A - D to enter the elevator. We went up to the 19th floor. the 6 of us sat on the chairs and waited for our letter to be called. Around 8:15am we were called to Window 10. A nice, young black woman asked for my appt letter, photo's, Birth Certificate, divorce doc's, marriage doc's, I-864, DS 230, 2009 Taxes, medical results. My medical was done on Tuesday 25th and therefore the results wouldn't be ready until 2pm day of interview, so I provided the consulate with a letter from Dr. Seiden's office stating t... read complete review
