Got outside REALLY early, just after 6:15am, and there was no one else, so we decided to grab a quick breakfast at a cafe right on the corner. Got back at 6:45am, and there were already 2 people in line. Doors opened promptly at 7:30am, went through security and was handed the letter C.
Went upstairs, waited for about 20 min to be called to window 14 and was helped by a very friendly lady who asked for my Police Check, Medical results, 2 passport photos, and all the other stuff. She instructed us to go to the cashier window, pay $350 US in cash, and then sit back down and wait to be called again.
After about 30 min or so, we were called back to the window, where my receipt was taken, and I was fingerprinted. My information was double-checked, and then we were instructed to go sit down and wait until we were called into the interview booth. We waited a good 3 hours, and it wasn't until 1:30 when I heard my name called.
Was interviewed by anot... read complete review

Got to the consulate at about 5-10 minutes before 7. I was first there but only just.. less than a minute later another guy wandered up. He kind of snuck ahead of me in line while I was saying goodbye to my mom, but I think he was just trying to get out of the wind, it was a bit chilly. A bunch more people showed up pretty quickly. The security guards opened the doors at about 7:30 or shortly after, the guy waved me up back in front of him thankfully. So the guard asked me what I was there for, I said \"a visa interview\" then he asked to see my application and I was like \"er what? which part of it? you mean the appointment letter?\" he said yes, the letter, so I gave it to him plus my passport. Got through security fine, got my \"brown card\" and my A, went and sat down in the waiting area.
About 7:50 the guard started taking the A-E folks, some of the others panicked because they had no letters but were assured they\'d get to come up next. There were 2 couples, anothe... read complete review

our experience at the consulate in montreal was status quo, we lined up early, got through security, got called up to windows, sat, more windows, paid, sat some more. nothing out of the ordinary to report, up until the interview itself:
i noticed that there was a letter (from NVC) on top of our file that had my CREDIT REPORT and a bulleted section indicating factors of "possible fraud". one of these factors being that i had received my divorce in october and filed the 129f petition in november. then i noticed a listing of all my prior addresses (from the past 10+ years) with tons of what appeared to be random names (i believe that these were names of other people who had been associated with these places i had formally rented). i was trying to read as much as i could, upside down, without the lady behind the glass noticing.
the woman was very nice, went through all the papers and asked why i had filed for the fiance petition so soon after my divorce. i ans... read complete review

I am writing this today just after the "approval" of our visa. The reason that I put approved in quotation marks is that I will get it finalized when I am ready to move. Since I have decided to continue working and saving money for the move and potential unemployment, the agent told me to send the passport in for finalization and official stamp when we are ready. (Giving 8 weeks lead time since Montreal is so backed up, normally it would be 4)
So that proviso aside, the experience was very positive and the staff and the consulate was friendly and professional.
My experience was similar to what others have posted. My interview time was shown as 8:30 am on the paper. However, they do let people in at 7:30, and it is somewhat first come first served. Since there were others in line, I waited in the second batch of people, but it did not bother me since I brought a book and was ready to wait.
First you go through security right at the door. Remove all... read complete review

Finally I get to wite a review!
I arrived at the consulate at 12:40 and was let in at 12:45 with another K1 aplicant. I was shown through security and then escorted up to the 20th floor. You are then called to window 2 to submit your documents. This bit is easy as long as you documents ae in order and present. Make sure you get the supporting evidence for the I-134 of support, fiance/ee bank statements, work contract and W2, etc.
I was then told that I had to pay the cashier, but the cashier was on lunch until 2pm. As it was 1pm, I was told that I could wait around or leave and come back. I chose to walk around the block and admire the Vancouver bay views while waiting and left. Remember to have another piece of ID on you to get back in as they hold onto your passport.
Arrived back at the consulate at around 1:45 and was shown through security again and led up to the 20th floor. Sat and waited outside the cashier's office and rang th... read complete review
