Finally I get to wite a review!

I arrived at the consulate at 12:40 and was let in at 12:45 with another K1 aplicant. I was shown through security and then escorted up to the 20th floor. You are then called to window 2 to submit your documents. This bit is easy as long as you documents ae in order and present. Make sure you get the supporting evidence for the I-134 of support, fiance/ee bank statements, work contract and W2, etc.

I was then told that I had to pay the cashier, but the cashier was on lunch until 2pm. As it was 1pm, I was told that I could wait around or leave and come back. I chose to walk around the block and admire the Vancouver bay views while waiting and left. Remember to have another piece of ID on you to get back in as they hold onto your passport.

Arrived back at the consulate at around 1:45 and was shown through security again and led up to the 20th floor. Sat and waited outside the cashier's office and rang th... read complete review

My finace drove down from North Carolina to drive to the interview with me to Montreal. We stayed at the Hostel (as it was the cheapest). We made it outside of the consulate at 6:30 am, and tied with a family that were waiting to get in. I believe they opened the door around 7:30 am. We went through security, only having the documents and passports with us. We did bring water and food, but we had to leave it with the security guards. The interview wasn't quite what I expected. They at first called me to line 12, where I gave a gentlemen all of my documents. I forgot to photocopy my passport so make sure you photocopy all documents! He was fairly nice, and it was very quick and painless. We stood through the whole process, which was funny- I guess I was expecting it to be a little more formal. haha. Anyway, we were a little short on the $350 US money, but they were really nice and patient. I was thinking it was 300, so my finace only brought 320, so I thought Id just take out 60 Canadia... read complete review

Hey Everyone,

I can't believe its my turn to type a review! I had my k1 interview at the Vancouver consulate. Got there 15 mins prior to the interview. Once there, they called my name after ten mins. Please make sure you have all your documents organized. I used a portfolio and labelled everything with post it tabs. So it was very easy to find.
I submitted the following forms.

- Letters of intent
- DS-230
- Passport + copy of info page
- $350US ( CASH and exact change
- 2 passport photos with name on back
- 2 copies DS-160
- 2 copies DS-156K
- Original long form birth certificate + copy
- My police certificates + copies
- Affadavit of Support + supporting docs (W2 from my fiance, letter from fiance employer, pay stubs)
- My medical results
-Xpresspost envelope

Then I got my fingerprints done. After 40 mins, I was called for the interview part. The interview... read complete review

We got in front of the consulate by 6:50AM. There were 5 people in front of us 1 couple and a family. Around 7:05 AM it started raining…light at first then POURING. We all gathered around the small alcove and luckily we had an umbrella. Regardless our pants and shoes were soaked. Security guards started letting people in right at 7:30AM…a few in line with backpacks were told to come back when they did not have them and that they had until 11 AM to come back. The security guard also said there were lockers at the Eaton Centre for people to leave stuff. We were given letter D and went through security. Then it was down the stairs through a door to the left of security down a short hallway to sit in front of the elevators. Waited around 10 minutes then they sent our group up. Seated on the 19th floor enjoying the view by 7:50AM. Waited until our letter was called to Window 10 around 8:20 AM. A nice man with brown-blond hair and glasses greeted us and asked us for documents…... read complete review

The Vancouver staff are awesome! They're very organized and helpful, as are the staff at Woking Medical. My Fiance and I arrived at the consulate about 12:35 and were told to return in 10 min (my appointment was at 1pm), so we sat on the steps of the plaza next door and enjoyed some sunshine. Security goes through all your things and will open any sealed envelopes, so just make sure anything you're bringing in can be opened relatively easily (the exception being the medical results, which are stamped by the clinic advising the Consulate not to open them). After being escorted to the 20th floor and waiting for a few minutes, We were called to window B just after 1, where we dropped off our documentation and chatted briefly with the gentleman collecting all the info. He advised us to return to the clinic (results are ready at 1:30) to pick up the results of medical, and told us to expect to be called for biometrics about 1:45.
This is where some may find it handy to park near the ... read complete review
