Hi all:
First of all, a huge thank you to VisaJourney.com! It answered many of my concerns and provided tips to make the nerve-breaking process much easier. My interview was on 3/21 in Montreal and it went like a breeze, like many on VJ said! (but i still could hardly sleep at all the night before...)
For those who don't want to read through the entire post, here are my suggestions based on my experience:
1. Don't bring a large bag: Better yet, don't bring any bag but a plastic shopping bag and a folder. On my way out of the consulate, there were quite a few people who were refused entry because the size of their bags.
2. Fill DS-230 even if you've filled DS-260: Montreal somehow wasn't equipped to handle electronic processing.
3. Bring an extra photocopy of all original documents
4. Arrive early regardless of your appointment time. It's first-come-first-serve.
Ok here is my interview experience... read complete review

Wow. Everything went fine in the end. My husband had his interview today and isn't much of a talker so I don't have a lot of detail. If I get more information, I will update this review.
We barely got through and very nearly were denied.
Mainly, it was like everyone said except that somehow there was a mix-up as to which visa class we were applying under. They had us a reunificiation when we are already living today in Canada and have been for several years. Once that got sorted out, then there was the drilling on domicile which we should have had more documentation for since we are definitely going, but I can see where they had questions.
They also said that they didn't believe that I was going to go back to the States. I should have come in person, along with him. I would have shown up in my Packer T-shirt whistling "Oh, say can you see". Not go home? Hahahahahah. I am ecstatic that I can go home.
My advice? D... read complete review

I dealt with some very nice and energetic people. The wait wasn't too bad but I would suggest getting a good meal in beforehand.

We had our interview yesterday and here is the review! I'll just start by saying that everything went great and we were approved. My husband (the Canadian citizen) has an apartment in Montreal, so we left from there and went to have coffee (there is a Tim Hortons and a Second Cup just one street over from the consulate). We arrived at the consulate at about 7:25. There was someone else there. Then a family walked up too. The guard opened the door right at 7:30. Of course we had no large bags or purses or cell phones, etc. but the family who arrived after us did and the guard was a little bit harsh. He wouldn't let them even near the door and didn't even want to talk to them. He just told them to go away and come back without the bag. So don't bring anything large! Every other guard was nice. We sat kind of near the elevator, but soon after another couple came and they sat near the elevator. We didn't talk but I suspect they were VJ-ers because they were savy! Just like so... read complete review

We had our interview yesterday in Montreal. Based on other reviews of the Montreal Consulate, it was exactly like we were expecting it to be.
I am the USC and my wife is the Canadian. We stayed at the Hyatt (Priceline for only $75!) which is less than two full blocks walking distance from the consulate. From our room, you could see the consulate building one block over. I had read that some people had difficulty finding the consulate door or didn't think they were in the correct place, but I'm not sure how. It is clearly marked on the doors. It is a double set of glass doors with glass on both sides of those. The number of the building is marked over the doors, fairly large. On the doors and next to them, there are signs stating this is the consulate and hours of operation. It also states a brief security note about large bags and anything electronic. It is hard to miss as it is the only entrance on that block for the building, other than the fortified garage type door f... read complete review
