First of all, thanks to all who have contributed reviews on VJ because reading them was extremely important preparation for our interview.

We arrived at the Montreal Consulate around 7:20am for a 8:00 appointment. Around 7:30am the officer opened the doors and had us line up on the left side. He sent a couple of people away who had cellphones. They came back later after leaving their phones somewhere.
Like some others we were not on any of the security officer's lists. He looked for a bit and asked another officer who told him that because we have the confirmation letter he has to let us in. So we passed security and went down the stairs to the waiting room. By the way there is a photo booth there I saw people use. So I guess if you forget your photos it's not the end of the world.
So we waited for 10 minutes and the officer called immigrant visa applicants into the elevator, so we went and he told us K1 is non-immigrant. So I'm thinking th... read complete review

My interview was at 10 am 16th may. I arrived there at 9.50 am, oh, surprise, there was already 30 people in front of me. But that was fine, exactly only two people include me was for K1 interview. Waiting time was two hours, but interview was just around 8 minutes, the officer just asked two very general question, how did I meet my fiance and Why I have been refused admission to the U.S in 2007, I just told them the true, then he stopped ask any question, told me You are welcome to united states, and I was bit emotional, the officer was totally understand with humanity, there was two officer for the interview, first one, took all certificates, second one was for the interview, they both made a great impression on me by their Humanity. I must say again, Thank you very much , Vancouver u.s consulate OFFICER!

Left extra early not to get stuck in montreal traffic which we did when going to medicals.. parked the car not even a block away from the consulate.
Waited for about an hour before they opened the door, he asked for the consulate letter and passports then let my son and i go inside.
Took off personal belongings put them in tray etc.. for security then headed downstairs to wait for another security guard to bring us upstairs.

Was led to cubby hole 14 to receive my number. C3 sat down and waited. The little play section is smart thinking my son didnt even have time to get bored while waiting.
Was then called to cubby number 11 to show consulate letters passports, and take fingerprints.
Was sent back to waiting room and not even 5 minutes later was called to number 12 to give in all the other paperwork.
was sent to go pay at cubby 14 then to come back and give the woman the receipt.
Went to sit in the waiting area for another 5 mi... read complete review

As mentioned by other VJers Montreal has one of the most courteous staff I have ever seen, the whole process was completely painless and over in say hour or so once it began.

Interview office was a nice blond lady, very good just asked two questions and that is it. Again if you have Electronically filed, make sure you have DS-230 filled up and just follow advice on VJ about what time to be there and how to check in and wait at elevator.

I like to thanks all the VJers who have helped us along the way, especially to Saylin thanks million.

Now waiting for passport in DHL and then right away POE.

Review Topic: F-2A Visa

My two sons and I stayed at the Square Phillips hotel just a 2 minute walk away from the Consulat and it was great!

We got up early had breakfast and headed to the Consulat without our cells, keys, etc... We got there at about 7h10 and there was only was other person in line. But very shortly thereafter a lot more people started lining up.

At 7h30ish the lights came on and they unlocked the doors. We entered and the officer took our passports, appointment letter and started preparing us to scan our personal items. He looked to find our names on the sheet. Our names were not there. He asked another officer what to do since I had my appointment letter but our names did not appear on the list. The other office said "send them up anyway". I was glad to hear that.

We were sent down to the basement to wait for the elevator. We were crammed into the elevator as much as was humanly possible. We could not move an inch. We got off the eleva... read complete review
