We had our interview appointment at 8 am, and we arrived at 6:30 am. There was no line at all, except for one other person and a couple. The doors did not open until about 7ish, I'm not too sure. But the line started to form momentarily. There was a guard that unlocked the chains that were inside of the doors, and opened them, then asked for our passports and the interview letter. We then proceeded to enter and went through another door and went through security, it was very quick. We had our car keys which had a keyless entry, so we had to give them the keys, and they give you a receipt to retrieve it when you're done. The guard then told us to take the stairs down to the waiting area where the elevator was. We went down and waited for about half an hour until another guard showed up, removed the ropes that were infront of the elevator. My interview in Montreal was definitely the easiest part of this whole process so far. I arrived at the consulate at about 6:50, and there were quite a few people in line already. The woman right in front of me had come directly from the airport and had her luggage with her, I felt a little badly that I didn't let her know earlier that they for sure would not let her in the building with it - but after being turned away at the door (she would have had C5) she had a cafe across the street watch it for her for $5 (ending up with C19).
I was totally over-prepared. I had spent days trying to put the original 129F submission back together (we'd lost the USB stick it was on between Mike getting back from Afghanistan and the interview), we spent 45 euros shipping the NOAs to me, I printed piles of photos and other evidence, and they asked me for nothing other than my passport, my birth certificate, police clearance letter and the I134.

I had my interview on Monday August 8, 2011 and while there was a lot of waiting, everything was relatively painless  The actual 'interview' itself lasted all of five minutes. We were asked how we met, to explain the website briefly and since it is a singing site, she asked about the first song I heard my husband sing. Then she approved me! Woo Hoo!

I showed up about 20 minutes before my interview and they started taking people in 15 minutes before the interview. I made sure not to bring any electronics but if you happen to bring your cellphone, you have to go through a secondary screening where they take it apart and tell you to keep it off. After getting in, I was directed to hand in my paperwork which was easy enough. They did not look at any of my evidence of ongoing relationship. I was told to sit, and I did for an hour. After an hour, I was called and the interview lasted approximately 6 minutes. I made an oath, was asked a few things about the wedding date and when I planned to POE, and I was approved. He said that my passport should only take a couple days and will be available for pickup this weekend. Everyone was very pleasant. Just make sure to bring a book/magazine.

Appointment 8:30am. Waited in line for a number along with everyone else. Sat until 9:50 when I handed in paperwork and got fingerprints. Then sat again and waited until 12:40pm for my interview. The lady was very kind and casual, and basically just asked me how I was and to tell her about my husband. So, my review is basically to say this: The people working there were all very nice, the wait time is brutal, the interview time does not mean that you will be seen at that time at all, and take a book!
