Finally I can add a review for this consulate and thank God it will be a good one.
First I'd like to say thanks to everyone on VJ for all the helpful info and i am just trying to pay it back.
I arrived at the embassy at 7:00am and was fifth in line. I believe three of the four people in front of me were VJ members. The guards arrived at 7:30 and started filing us into the building. Security was a breeze, they were polite and we were sent to the room in the basement to wait. We waited about 20 minutes and were then sent into the elevator which was really crammed. There were a lot of people at the embassy that day for the immigrant visas.
Up inside the consular offices, a lady showed us the way to line up for our numbers and i got C5. My number was called and i went to window 10 where a man took my fingerprints, my passport, my passport photos and the filled out DS230. he asked to go back and i would be called up again. First off, I'd just like to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the whole process and there was NOTHING to be worried about! I was soooo nervous, because that's just the type of person I am...I get so nervous in new situations lol, but there was no need - it was an awesome experience!!
My appointment was scheduled for 10 am. I planned on being at the consulate that morning for at least 9:15/9:30, but traffic ended up being better than I anticipated so I actually arrived by 9 am lol.
When I turned the corner and headed toward the building I saw loads of people...randomly dispersed and some in formal lines. I walked up and saw that there was a sign that said, '9:00 am Appointments' and people standing behind this sign. I got in the line and the lady that was in front of me asked, "What time is your appointment?" I told her 10 am. Never thought this day would arrive and here I am writing the review!
There is not much difference to the other reviews posted here:
I stayed at the 'La Tour Centreville' hotel around the corner of the consulate. I personally do not recommend it since it was not that clean and the air-conditioning and refrigerator made so much noice at night I had to unplag them.
I was at the consulate by 6,45 am (could not sleep that night) and I was the first in line. By 7,30am I would say there were about 15 in line and the doors opened. I followed all reviews stating to sit next to the elevator and then go to the back and left. I was the first in line for a number and got C1. Then 20 min passed approx before I was called to a booth 12 where they took my fingerprints. Sat back down and waited about 10 minutes and was called to booth 10 where I was asked all my originals (police/birth/marriage certificate, passport, visa and DS-230). The evening before my appointment at the consulate in Montreal, I read a bunch of reviews on VJ, and that turned out to be really helpful. Here's a bit of advice if you have an interview coming up there.
First, bring as little as possible. Seriously, no bags, backpacks, electronic equipment of any kind. I had to leave my wallet chain and clip watch at security, and people in front of me with bags were turned away. They'll probably ask you to leave any cellphones at security too (you get this stuff back when you leave, but you can't leave anything large like bags at security).
Second, you will have to fill in a DS-230 form, even if you've filed electronically (at this time anyway). You can print it out at home and bring it in so that you don't have to do it in a rush at the consulate; also some details might be hard to remember (employers over past 10 years, dates of previous trips to US, etc.). You'll gain some time.

The medical clinic was amazing. Staff were knowledgeable, helpful and incredibly nice. I was able to schedule my interview and medical for the same day (medical at 6am and interview for 11am). My understanding is that there is only one doctor--a female--so that was reassuring. Everyone took a number, filled out a form, then waited to have our blood test for syphilis (no other diseases--only syphilis). I hate needles but the nurse was very adept and it was painless. Next we had the chest x-ray. The gowns are a little threadbare and as a consequence, most people end up hanging out in their change rooms until they hear someone exit and then peak their head out to see if it is their turn. Besides, it is only a waist-up strip. Thankfully, we were not lined up in see-through gowns free to ogle one another(I had read someone had this experience and was anxious about it).
