This is going to be a short review, as I was not there for the interview and is based on what my wife told me...
Wife and kids got to the embassy around 6:45am and there were some people there, not many. At 7:45am sharp they were aloud inside. Once inside, the people that was going fot a CR-1 Visa got in a different line then the K-1 people... then, a very nice lady told them how to organize the documents...they have to be in a specific order. My wife and kids were the very last ones for the CR-1 interviews... they left the embassy around 11:45am
Only questions she was asked, were:
Where did we meet.
How many times have I visited her?
When did we marry?
after the last question the officer said to her with a smile " your visas are approved, congratulations"
They did not ask her for any documents or pictures, even though she took about 100 pages of documents and about 40 pictures.
She ... read complete review

We arrived at the 7.15 am arrival time and were escorted into a room where 4 other couples were waiting for a similar interview. Luckily, we jumped the enormous line for people waiting for tourist visa approvals!! It appears they handle tourist requests and other visa requests separately, which makes sense, since there are much fewer people (or so it appears) in the process for visas other than tourist visas.
There was a very kind young woman attending to us pre-interview who requested us to organize our documents in a particular way so that when it came time to the interview, the consul could skim through them. The interview itself was very short and sweet, just a few questions were presented to my fiance (I could have been present there with him, but I was getting us coffee at the time!!) ;-( We didn\'t realize we would be called so quickly! I know she asked him how and when we met, but that's all I can remember as far as questions asked. I can find out more, if ... read complete review

We arrived at the U.S. Embassy in Rio at 6:00am. We asked a guard (Daniel) for directions and as it happened, he was stationed at the entrance for immigrant visas. He was cordial and talkative, and stayed with and talked to us for 45 minutes, until his shift ended.
Nobody else arrived until about 6:30am. There's a lanchonete directly across the street where you can grab a snack if need be. Since there were two of us, we took turns. The lanchonete opens about 6:30am, by the way.
The tourist visa line grows pretty rapidly. Guards begin to multiply and set up signs around 6:30am to 6:45am, but largely ignore you. Around 7:00am-ish 4-5 guards in red vests come out and begin checking documents in the tourist visa line. Immigrant visas: wait! The tourist visa line began moving and entering before ours - which was frustrating given we'd been there longer and we were, naturally, stressed.
7:20-7:30am a single guide came out and checked our... read complete review

Well, I guess my review won´t be too long, since it was all pretty simple and quick.
I got there at 7:15 am, at the side door of the consulate (just for immigrant visas) there was a woman that check our pictures, the mail confirming the date of the interview, and gave us a watchword.
After that we went to a room upstairs just for immigrant visas.
There the same woman checked our documents, and put it on what they say it ´s the sequence the consulate requires.
That done, we waited to be called for the trial of the pile of documents and forms, after checking all the docs, the woman behind the window, tells you to wait for the interview.
They call your watchword, but in a random sequence, so if your number it´s 1 you can be either the first, the last, or in the middle...
I was the forth to be called, and it took 3 minutes for her to say that the visa was approved, she only asked where we met, how we met, how long I lived in usa, and how we got ... read complete review
