Our interview was scheduled for 7:15am on March 9, 2012, and we arrived at the consulate around 7am. I would advise arriving earlier than this as the line outside the consulate was already very long when we arrived.
When you are approaching the line there are some consulate workers who will come around and ask you if you have any electronic devices with you, which are not allowed. So don't take your cell phone or tablet, you can't get in the consulate with them.
Then while you are waiting in line, some other workers will come around, look to see if you have your passport and passport photos with you, and give you another form to fill out. Not sure what is on that form as my wife filled it out and I was way past tired of forms at this point. But I think it was just address and contact info.

I had to travel to Rio to be "present" for my fiancee interview, please do not take my review into consideration due to the fact that our process was way different than any other process here, I am just giving a consulate review, because the staff that works there now, it's very prepared, knowledgeable, and their performance exceeds many others i have seen before, everyone it's very friendly, and as i mentioned before they are capable to distinguish real from fake and everything in between.. we had our K-1 process revoked on 2010, just because my previous marriage in the US was to someone from the same country and for some reason that raised a tremendous red flag.
It was so confusing that the consul herself (a nice lady) capable of doing such a great job, requested that i should be present, and by the time i got there, in the next few days, she conducted a 3 hour interview with the purpose of clarifying our situation, the output of that one on one interview came as expected, her... read complete review
