This consulate is the most incompetent organization on the planet. Unfortunately, they have been affected/influenced by the other incompetent governing bodies of Brazil that also do not function properly.
Not only did they lose my joint-sponsor's tax transcripts but they gave conflicting requests and provided misleading information. In addition, they only notified us of our case's issues in the interview when they could have notified us a month in advance before the interview. Lastly, they provided a document in the interview listing the missing documents of our case, but when I sent them the requested documents they responded with another request via email requesting something different than what was requested during the interview.
You can't call them. If you do call and try and ask for someone that can help you, they actually hang up on you. Let me repeat, they actually hang up on you.
That the heck is wrong with this consulate?

Interview was around 20 minutes long. Fabio had to raise his right hand and swear to tell the truth. We were only asked about our 20+ year history (how we met, how long we dated originally, why we broke up, why we lost touch and how we reconnected). We were asked if we had brought any more picturesthat they did not already have and we did bring more so we showed them to the interviewer. So after looking at everything, the interviewer excused himself saying he would be right back and took our file with him. Fabio and myself were thinking if sometbing was wrong. After a couple of minutes the guy came back and said we were approved. The gentleman we dealt with was very polite and the over all experience was better then expected. Only negative thing is, be prepared to wait awhile when you enter the embassy...you may be there for hours before you have your interview.

She arrived at the Embassy around 6:30AM local time and everything was completed by 10AM.
According to her everyone at the embassy treated her with the outmost professionalism. She said that most of the time was waiting for her turn to come up, but once she was called the process took less then 30 minutes to complete.
Some of the questions that she was aked are:
What is the full name of your fiance? (My name is really strange,,LOL)
How many daugthers do I (fiance) have and what are their full names?
Where do live and do any of them live with him?
What is the name of your daughter?
How many often do you guys speak or skype with eachother?
No photos, chat logs nor Skype logs were asked, but she had it all if they had asked.

After reading many interviews on the Rio Consulate, I was very aware of the process, and had plenty of faith that it was going to be straight forward.
Indeed, it was just like that, with A COUPLE OF THINGS that I wish I had read before, because I spent a couple extra hours there, that I would not have ;-)
First of all, I flew down to Brazil, to go to the interview, even though I knew it was not needed. However, I wanted to be there with my wife.
Since she leaves in Sao Paulo, we went to Rio on the weekend, and stayed on a friend's house, which was about 45 minutes from the consulate. I read about the hotel next door, but our friend refused to let us stay on the hotel.
On the morning of her interview, we took a cab, and got to the consulate about 6:30 AM ( interview time was 7:15 AM ). We went to get some coffee, instead of going to the queue, since I read on the forum that you did not have to get there early.
