The staff at the consulate in Warsaw were very helpful. I did not wait to receive the packet 3. Alesya and I would still be waiting for an interview if that was the case. Postal mail in Belarus is not so reliable. Once you receive your new case number from NVC (begins with WRW), you can email Warsaw your packet 3. There are directions on the Warsaw embassy website for how to do this.

I visited Alesya for 10 days in August. Her interview was 4 days after I lleft. I did my best to get the interview while I was in Eastern Europe. However, there is a minimum of 30 days between packet 3 receipt and the interview date. I had to call the consulate before I left Belarus in order to get a copy of her appointment letter emailed to me. While the staff suggested that she did not need the appointment for the interview, I was glad that I asked for it because the first thing they asked Alesya for at the security gate was her appointment letter. Of course, she had to give her cell phone... read complete review

My interview time was set at 9.30 am. Got there at 8.30, there were almost no people. Submitted the documents at the information window. Got the ticket with my number - I was the first in line for my type of visa. Then I paid the visa fee. Took a seat in front of the counter and I could see the officer go through my papers (there was a blue paper from my lawyer which I recognized). 10 min after he called me to the window. He was rather friendly, greeted me in Russian or Belarussian (don't remember that well) and the proceeded in English. I was asked to raise my hand and swear to tell the truth=) Then he asked me when I plan to leave for the US. Next question was "What did you study in China?" (I stayed there for about a year to study Chinese=) ) Then he asked me how I met my fiance. (We met in Physics class in High School while I was on an exchange program in the USA 6 years before... no where in the docs that i submitted this information was mentioned. However, the officer knew about... read complete review

Overall, the interaction with the Consulate was pleasant enough. They did seem to be a bit disorganized, ie not always sure whether they had received our documents or not.

The only important addition we have to add to the other reviews is that, if your fiancee is from Belarus, they will return the passport and instruct her to come again the following day, so they can conduct their internal review. This is normal. Anna expected them to keep her passport, so as to affix the visa in it, and was a bit freaked out when they gave it back to her. Of course, she thought it meant she was going to be denied. But never fear, it is a matter of routine.

Found the consulate staff to be very helpful and solicitous. Our case is a waiver case and typically Moscow has set dates for the waiver applications to be taken. They made and exception and allowed the waiver to be filed the same day as interview because of the travel involved to return to Moscow.

We had our interview on Sept 28 -29 at the US Embassy in Warsaw. We arrived at 8:30 for our 8:45 interview. Went through security check then to the waiting room for our interview. We went to one of the windows where a woman looked at all of our documents and kept the ones they needed then we were given a numnber and told to go to the waiting room. When our number was called we went to the window and both myself and my fincee were asked a few questions, they looked at our proof of ongoing relationship and said "come back tomorrow between 8 and 10am". We paid our $131 and then came back the next day and went through the same security check then to the same room to the same window and took a number and waited. When we were called up to the window they said everything looks in order so "please come back at 3pm to pick up your visa."
Upon coming back at 3pm we waited inline at a window on the sidewalk and when we were at the window they asked my finacee's name and then handed us the... read complete review
