I am writing on behalf of my wife, who was interviewed. From start to finish, it took about an hour for the whole ordeal. Please don't think all Bangladeshi interviews are done in an hour. Most people told us that it will take 5-6 hours, which has been everyone else's experiences.
During the interview the wife was asked only my name and our marriage date. After that, she was told to go wait. In few minutes, they called her and gave her a receipt saying she could pick up her passport with VISA tomorrow. So she did.
I will update this review as I draw out more details from my wife.

I dont know where to start my review cause right now so many things are coming up in my head.It was really hard to being here without my husband for 7 months.ok now coming back to my interview that went well apart from that waiting time in the lounge for 5 hours. The night before my interview I organized all the papers before going to bed. As it is Ramadan going on, I woke up at 4 am in the morning and was preparing for interview. I was thinking to get out a bit early from the house but I was late somehow. I had an interview at 8 am and I managed to get out from the house at 7:10 and finally I was able to get into line infront of the embassy at 7:45 am. There was a huge queue and security system was really very strict and they were permitting one person at a time to get into the embassy. After going through the heavy security system finally I was able to get into the main room. What I saw in the room full of people OMG I have never seen that much of pepole in the embassy. I had to wait... read complete review

Our experience with the Embassy in Dhaka was a pretty sour one.
First, the Packet 3 was sent to me in the USA. We submitted everything right away and were waiting for our Packet 4 to arrive. It had been about 1.5 months and we had still not heard anything back from the Embassy, at which point, I decided to email them to make sure that everything was received. Good thing I did because they claimed to have already sent Packet 4 and that our visa appointment was in 7 days. They emailed me the forms and application procedures for an Immigrant Visa, which threw me into a panic since I was prepared for a Non Immigrant visa (K-1). I emailed them again and they emailed the correct packet after a few days of making me panic. I scrambled at the last minute to get vacation time from work and fly to Dhaka to attend the interview with my fiance. I wanted to be there especially since K-1's are rare in Bangladesh. The experience at the Embassy was pretty bad. We expected high security ... read complete review

My wife's CR1 visa interview got approved!First of all, thanks to all the people who shared their experiences out here. Those helped us a lot during the preparation.
My wife had her visa interview at Dhaka consulate on March 2nd, 2010. It was at 8.00 a.m. I had told her to take everything: I-864, copies of my Tax returns for 4 years, pay stubs, employment letter, wedding pictures, pics of us together on trips, wedding cards, birthday/anniversary/valentine's day card, joint bank account statement, email correspondence, phone call records etc. Also, photocopies of everything. First in one counter a Bangladeshi lady collected her interview appointment letter, two copies photographs, I-864 and my tax returns and W-2 statements. Then they took her fingerprints and had her sign the last page of DS-230 form. They also returned her the original birth certificate. Then they sent her to another window where a nice American lady took her interview. My wife said that she was nervous at first... read complete review
