We had our interview on the 28th January at 10am. There was myself and my 3 children who were all applying for visas. K1 & 3 x K2 visas. My children 12, 9 and 6yrs old had to attend the interview also.
Before I start just a few tips for those with children. There are no toilets on the 59th floor so be sure to get your children to go before you reach the top floor. Closest toilet is on the 10th floor. Once you go up to 59th, if you go back down, you must go thru security all over again.
Take some colouring books or cards to keep your children amused and quiet. It can be a long wait for small children.
Ok so, we arrived at the MLC building at 9:15am and was told to come back 15mins before appointment. We did that and went straight up to the 10th floor.
We then went thru security. No phone or electronics allowed past that point. They will hold your bag and give you a number to pick up your items before leaving.
Once we went thru secu... read complete review

The process began exactly like we've read in many of these other reviews - we arrived a little before 9am for a 9:30 interview. Our case is a little more uncommon as my fiancee (the US citizen) joined me for the whole process. If your fiance(e) happens to be in the country for your own interview, they can join you as long as you email the consulate first asking for permission.
The first room was security, where they confiscated everything but the relevant paperwork. We were quickly shown into another elevator where a lady checked our passports, crossed our names off a list, and let us through a security door.
The final room was kind of like waiting for a bank teller - everyone took a number and sat, where there was seven applicable booths for visa applicants. We noticed that many of the interviews were taking quite a long time. We'd read reviews here that said Australia was so relaxed that many interviews last five minutes or less. So that obviously unner... read complete review

I had my interview on the 21st January at 10:30am. Went to the consulate at 10:05, went through security (I didn't bring anything except my folder full of evidence which was easier). Got directed to go up to the interview floor and waited for about 20 mins to be called up to the first window. The lady was very nice, asked for a few documents (I had to redo my DS-160 form so I gave the new confirmation page to her then). She gave me back my birth certificate, police certificate etc. Went and sat back down for another 15 mins and then got called up to the second window for the interview. The questions were:
How did you meet?
Has your fiance ever been to Australia?
Have you ever been arrested?
How do you two keep in touch?
What does he do for a living?
Confirmed who the I-134 co-sponsor was.
He looked through some of the photos in our file, remarked on how tall my fiance is and joked that he could pass for an Aussie haha. ... read complete review

My day started with a 10:30 interview. I showed up at the building at 9:45, I didn't wanna get lost as it was my first visit to Sydney. I hung around the bottom of the MLC centre for fifteen minutes before going up to level 10 I went through security there but I left everything there, they did take a CD from me tough. After that I went to level 59 and showed the lady my passport, got buzzed in and took a number.
I sat down in the room, trying to gauge and in all honesty listen in on other peoples interviews, after about 10 minutes I was called to window where I was asked some generic questions (name, asked for paperwork, provided a photo) I was then handed back all my documents and told to take a seat again.
20 minutes later I was called up to a different window. This time I was asked more personal questions about our relationship, he went through the paperwork (i had to provide more I-134 forms on the day) and said everything had been in order. I was th... read complete review
