Interview was quick and easy. Arrived there 15min earlier for my 9am appointment. I was able to bring a bottle of water past security but had to take a sip from it. After going upstairs I waited for about 5 min and was called to one of the windows. Officer asked if documents were in the correct order and also to remove all papers clip. He had a quick look and asked me to sit down and wait until I was called again.
I waited for another 10-20min and was called by a woman to another window. A very friendly lady started by asking how I met my fiancé. When I began to tell the story she said: ‘I know how this story ends, you have a baby now, right?’ She remembered me from when I went to apply for my son’s US passport a few months ago. Unfortunately, because she was my interviewer on that occasion, she said she would need to assign me to another officer this time.
I had to wait for 20min to be called again. This time I was called by a male officer. He was also friendly ... read complete review

Interviews conducted through screens like bank tellers have - with everyone in the waiting area able to listen in, so not much respect for your privacy. I rated it a good experience because I was approved with no problems. They seem to process everyone in the order they arrive, using the take-a-number system, so it may pay to arrive early. I arrived just after 8am for an 8.30 appointment, was about 6th in line, and was out by about 10am. Visa arrived by mail 6 days later.

I arrived 30 minutes early (a little paranoid). Straight through security and up the elevator. There were approximately 10 people in the waiting room. As soon as I arrived I was called up to the first counter to submit some documents. Five mixture later I was called up to the second window. After answering a few questions (fiance's name, address, job, wedding plans etc) my visa was approved. All done 15 minutes BEFORE my scheduling appointment time. Very impressed with their efficiency!

I arrived at the Sydney Consulate reception on level 10 at 8.50am for my 9.00am appointment. I went through security and was taken up to the 59th floor fairly quickly. I took a number and sat in the waiting area, and after 20 minutes I was called up to the window and was asked to hand over all the documents I was requested to bring.
I had not been required to send anything in previously, as the packet 3 instructions stated that I was to bring all my documents on the day of my appointment. This included my passport, the DSL-1076 checklist, MRV fee receipt, DS-160 confirmation page, passport-type photograph, letters of intent to marry, birth certificate, police certificate (I had not received my police certificate by the date of my appointment and was told I could send this in once I had received it), and the I-134 and evidence. I was then asked to wait again while those documents were checked, copied and added to the file.
After waiting approximately ano... read complete review

Firstly if you're like me and from the country, don't be too overwhelmed by Sydney. I had to ask around on the forums here as to what to expect but you can really 'miss' the MLC building. It's also only a small walk from Martin Place if you want somewhere to wander to stretch your legs.
My day for the interview began at 3:00am. Being from a rural town, 2 hours (drive) from Sydney I had to be up early to catch the train in. My dad accompanied me for the day so we caught the train at 4:10am. We arrived in central at 7:20am. My interview wasn't until 10:45am but the second train into Sydney was too late and driving there is only for the experienced. :P
We killed time until around 9:30am where we wandered up to the Lobby of the MLC centre (Which is actually level 8). We sat until about 10:10am then took the lifts up, followed the signs and left dad at the waiting area as I passed through security. FYI, if someone comes with you, left them stay at the lobby, th... read complete review
