Having previously gone through a US visa process for a working visa there were no major surprises with security lines and wait times.
The girls after security shuffled my papers and took out a couple of extra pages then straight upstairs to a line for a quick intermediate interview. Once through that I sat down in the seating area until I was called to Window 1, which had screens around it (the other windows are quite open and you can hear all the other interviews happening from where you're are sitting, but they seemed to be exclusively for work/travel visas).
The woman interviewing me was really lovely. I think she asked about 3 questions, How did we meet, where do we plan on living, will I continue to work for the same company etc. Then she handed me a piece of paper regarding domestic abuse and smiled and said congratulations, you're approved. All up I spent more time in lines or waiting than being interviewed.

I was a bit nervous in the beginning even though I had all the necessary documents. The people at the embassy are the nicest and that does put you at ease. After the security check, the documents are arranged as per the checklist and you are sent up for the interview. Take a token slip and await your turn. Fingerprint check - questions - approval.
Questions I was asked:
1) How did you meet?
2) Any kids?
3) When did you last meet?
4) Where does your fiancee live?
5) Which countries have you lived in?
Thats it!

I arrived at the consulate at 10.50 for an 11.15am interview and the nice police officer let me go through as there was a line in security anyway.
Went through security, got upstairs and went to the first line where a lady had a look through my paperwork and told me that my name would be called and i would not need to take a number.
In less than 10mins my name was called, I went to the window and was asked to take the oath and my prints were taken.
Then gentlemen behind the counter then asked how i met my fiancé. I was very nervous so i rambled on about how we met and then he just looked through my documents and asked me what our marriage plans were.
He that said "we are going to issue your visa today and you will receive it in 1-2 weeks"
Done! I was out in 30 mins or less and could barely believe I was approved as it all happened so quickly!
Very happy and excited

I had my interview for 7:45am on the 15th July, my fiancé was with me as well which was great!
You go through security as per usual, take off shoes and check-in your items to leave on level 10.
We then proceeded to another counter where girls go through your paper work and make sure you are only taking the necessary upstairs to level 57... the most annoying part is where they advised me to get a postage bag for $20 when you actually don't need it because they courier your visa to you once approved (without having to pay). So I just paid for a postage bag for nothing, waste of money! So if they advise you to get one- insist and tell them you don't need it!
My fiancé and I sat down and waited for the next free elevator where the guards took us up to level 57. Once there, there is another person that checks your documents and then advise you to go inside and line up. You then line up and they go through your paperwork again. They advised us to take a numbe... read complete review
