Our experience was actually quite pleasant given the situation behind what had happened with our K-1 Visa early in August but here's the run down...
Our interview was scheduled for 2PM but because we were unsure of what the traffic was going to be like we left at 12:30PM and ended up arriving at around 1PM. Security was no big deal though they had a major interest in an item I had (a special credit card wallet) but when they realized it was not electronic it was fine. Despite the fact we arrived rather early the receptionist allowed us in anyway.
We submitted the paperwork we brought with us and the nice gentleman we were dealing with had some slight issues with my fiance's birth certificate (it was made in the 1970s before the government change). We sat for about 2 hours because a few other applicants for immigration visas ran into some snags. One guy who was born outside of Capital Federal forgot to get the Ministry of Interior stamp on his birth certi... read complete review

My fiance and I had a good experience at the US Embassy in Buenos Aires. Everything was pretty easy and quicker than we expected. Here's the rundown of our experience:
We got to the embassy at 3 minutes before 2pm, which was our interview time. They called my fiance's name over the loudspeaker. They gave him two tickets that said "Interivew." We stood in a short line for security, which was similiar to airport security. You can't have liquids, gels, metal, electronics. If you have any of those things, you can leave your backpack with the security guys. I accidentally forgot that there was a tuning fork in my backpack... they weren't happy (and also had no idea what it was.)
Anyway, after, we took a number and went into the waiting room. My fiance was called immediately to a small room with a guy who wanted his finger prints. They had not told us that he needed fingerprints, so then he sent us back out into the waiting room to get them. They called my fianc... read complete review

We arrived at the consulate 15 minutes before our interview as recommended. When we arrived, there were several lines and we were unsure which to stand in. We probably wasted about 5 minutes standing in the wrong line until a guard told us we needed to first get a number from the person in the glass window. Since we were CR/IR 1 filers, we were directed to the glass window ahead of others who were already in line for their tourist visas. We were given a number and a slip of paper and were allowed to enter ahead of the line. Once in, we went through a security check (metal detector) and left our electronics with the guards (cell phones, ipod,etc.). Once we made it through security, we passed through a door that lead us back outside where there was a guard waiting who directed us into another building with a small reception area. Once inside the reception area, there was a person seated at what appeared to be a type of information desk. The man told us first we had to enter the main wait... read complete review
