Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Hi all! Yesterday I got my interview, and I finally got approved!!! Im the applicant, and I went to the embassy with my husband, who only had to show his passport to get in.
Everything was really easy, and everyone was friendly. They made me throw away my cigs, but I was expecting that javascript:emoticon('')

They gave me the green folder, and told me to wait. The green folder had a list with everything I was supposed to hand in, and I got really scared because I only had 3 of those documents. Luckily, they only asked me for the documents I had brought with me, since all the other documents had already been sent to the NVC, and I didnt need them anymore.

They asked me 2 questions only:

1-How did you guys meet?
2-Do you know what Iowa looks like?

The guys had already an answer when he called us in, and the questions were just rutine.

After that, they gave my all the papers that... read complete review

It couldn't have been easier!
It was pretty much like everyone else has already posted. Went 30 mins prior to the scheduled time, went to window 1 to announce myself as an "immigration visa" applicant, they gave me the famous green folder with an explanation on how to put the documents from packet 4 in order; and they let me right in (had no cellphone, no keys, nothing). Took my fingerprints and sent me to the building where I was given a number and told to wait next to window 5 (It has a sign that says Inmigration and a pic of the Statue of Liberty on top of it). Ten minutes later my number pops up on the screen, go there, and a nice gentleman told me to put (inside the green folder)just the medical, my 4 old passports and some new proof of ongoing relationship that I was bringing with me, because I had already sent all the originals with the packet 3. He also told me to wait because I was going to be called from window 12 to pay. I was called 15 minutes later and paid U$S 240 ... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

I got to the embassy almost an hour before my appointment, because I didn't have the time (left me cell at home).

I went right in and was called almost immediately. i handed my files, a very nice young officer looked at them, and he sent me to pay the fee. i did, and then i waited for what seemed a looong time (it probably wasn't, because the whole thing took about two hours) and was called in for the interview. the consul was super nice. she asked me a few questions (how did i meet my fiance, where, what's his job, did he propose?). then she said the visa was approved, congratulations, and handed me the instructions to pick it up. also, i mentioned that i have a ticket for next week and needed it ASAP and she said it wouldn't be a problem.

The interview was very good, the consul was really nice. First we had to gave all the papers they asked and they told us to be pacient because could take a long time. So we wait like 3 hours until we had the interview. I was with my husband, they asked, how we met, what he was doing in Argentina, why we want to move to the States. He was very friendly, then he saw some of the pictures and he told me that the Visa was aproved! it was a good experience!

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Hello everyone! First of all I want to thank all the people who contributed information to this site, it was very helpful in our K1 visa process.
Regarding my interview at the Buenos Aires US Embassy: It was painless and the staff was kind and helpful!
I arrived the embassy around 15 or 20 minutes before my appointment time. There were people in line for tourists visas, I told the usher I had an appointment for a K1 visa and he told me to go straight to window #1. They checked my name on a list and asked me to go in. After that you go through a normal security check. Don't forget to check the restricted items list to enter the embassy. They checked my fingerprints in the next station and I was ready to go into the main building. Once in there they gave me a green folder and instructions on the order they needed my papers to be placed (inside that green folder). After a while my name was called up and I entered a small room where a lady asked me for only some forms that we... read complete review
