hi to all VJ members,
My interview in the embassy of Algiers was quicker then i thought, they didn't let me in before the exact time or stay in front of the embassy till few minutes left.
I had to go the inspection which they told me that electronic devices not allowed to be in the embassy, I asked the agent why, and if I can keep my iPad in a box with a key or something, but he only replied that they just don't accept such devices. so he just left it a on a table there, then took all my coins cellphone and other metal stuff in a box and handed me the key. He guided me to take an exit and walk thru the stairs down the line till I get a door. The embassy inside was very quite and nice, so I headed to the door while another agent from inside opened the door for me where I found 2 others waiting. The waiting room has a TV playing how Muslims live in the US and other programs...
Anyway, if you get nervous and need to let it go, there is a toilet on the left. ... read complete review

They received me on time and very professsional, no stress. I got inside the Embassy at 1:15pm and at 1:30pm they checked me with the security machine. The person was perfectly nice with me. Then wen I got inside the waiting room they asked for my passport and then I waited a little bit and then they called my name and asked for the medical exam, DS160, I-134 and proof of relationship. THen they requested me to sit down and wait. Then another person called me and took my biometrics (fingerprints). Then sit down again and a lady called me to pay the fee. Then waited again and they call me and said to go to window #7 to the CO (consular officer). The CO interviewed me and gave me a 221g and he said my interview was very well done. The end of the interview. The 221g requested "Proof of finances including prior year tax audit from the IRS, W-2 forms, Social Security statement, etc. In reality we submitted all the evidence requested on the I-134. The only difference was that I sen... read complete review

My fiance had his interview today. There were 6 other people and he was out with his visa in 2 hours. The questions were pretty basic, how we met, when we met, what kind of work he would do in Alerica. Then the strange questions....they ask if he was paying me money or if I was paying him money?? They asked if I was muslim before I met him or if I became muslim just for him??? Then they asked him why he loved me.....again strange questions, but they seemed more interested in our relationship then anything else. They gave him a letter stating "Congradulations, visa to AMerica is approved" and a UPS tracking ticket. He should receive his visa in 12 days.
