Let's take a poll with the parents of children that attend or did attend Sandy Hook elementary and ask them.

I think you'd find that these parents - like most others - would rather the NRA shoots itself which would pave the way towards sanity around firearms in this country.

WASHINGTON — The nation's largest gun-rights lobby is calling for armed police officers to be posted in every American school to stop the next killer "waiting in the wings."

The National Rifle Association broke its silence Friday on last week's shooting rampage at a Connecticut elementary school that left 26 children and staff dead.

The group's top lobbyist, Wayne LaPierre, said at a Washington news conference that, quote, "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun."

What is or isn't a felony isn't my concern. I don't care, I'm a law abiding citizen. If someone steals something and they know that stealing that item is a felony and do it anyway ... no sympathy here.

I don't support criminal behavior.

I don't think it should count as a felon, but remember: in the past you have been pretty hardcore on some issues where compassion would have been more sufficient. That's why you aren't going to get any leeway from the libs up in here

Some person...man or woman that's down on their luck due to drugs...whatever shouldn't get a felony for that imo. It's not a felony here but in some states it is. I think that's taking it over board.

Perhaps not, but that's the law. If you don't like the law, and it's important enough to you, you should do what you can to try and get it changed.

In fact that's what I'm doing right now with the issue of sensible gun control legislation. I just fired off an email to my congressmans office suggesting they take a look at what can be done about the laws that allow convicted felons to have such easy access to guns. Let's see if they respond.
