PNB Web Remittance? Is it currently working for you?

Hello All,

I have been using the PNB online remittance method to send money to the Philippines for over 6 months now and never had a problem. I can't access their site now? Not sure if they are having technical web site problems or changed the site or what. Anybody know what is going on? Can you access their web site?

I can get to http://www.pnbrci.com/ but when I click Web Remit Now!, which is https://www.pnbrcionline.com I just get this:

The website cannot display the page

HTTP 500

Most likely causes:

The website is under maintenance.

The website has a programming error.

What you can try:

Refresh the page.

Go back to the previous page.

It looks OK now. There must have been a server problem in the PI yesterday and last night. I couldn't access the Manila newspaper I alwasy read.

Try Xoom.com its very reliable and they have cheap remittance fee..

It looks OK now. There must have been a server problem in the PI yesterday and last night. I couldn't access the Manila newspaper I alwasy read.

Oh, see what you mean now, the main site comes up but web remit won't. I see a change someone made there the web remit button is flashing and if I look at properties, it was changed 12-10 so probably a programming error in the link.

I received a response from someone who takes care of their web site. Here is what they had to say:

Dear Sir/Madam:

The site is 99.99% zero downtime (management maintenance occurs only in less than 5 minutes per 2 or 3 months). You were right in your reply that the system might be undergoing maintenance during the time that the client was accessing it (but the system should be up in less than 5 minutes).

Also, it is possible that this perceived error (which is not really an error) is related to a cached info (expired memory in the client's computer). Please advice also the client about the following:

First, if you are storing the site under your Favorites, please store only http://www.pnbrcionline.com. (not with https or http://www.pnbrcionline.com/xxxxxxxxx/xxxx where xxx are the codes that appear on the browser). For security reason, we are not using cookies for the computer to remember the site and the different links in our system. Likewise you cannot use the Refresh link or button in your browser for our system.

Second, you may need to update your Windows if you are using Internet Explorer OR use a different browser like Firefox.

Third, if your computer is cached (not turning off for a long time) or connected to a proxy network, please reboot your computer. Again, do not use the Refresh button while accessing the pnbrcionline.com website.

You can't just go to the site that way or you get this, "Request invalid and unauthorized. Session terminated. Please contact PNBRCI.COM if you believe you are authorized to use this interface."
