Wet signature required? i-134

My fiancee and I are about to begin the k1 visa process. She is in the US, I am I've here in the UK. i noticed that among the required documents is a statement of intent with a SIGNATURE. She will be filing the i-134 so her signature being an original is fine but as I am out of county, would a scanned version of this signed from be okay or must it be a wet signature? must a sign it and mail it to her?

Whose the petitioner?

I-134 requires the petitioner wet SIGNATURE and the rest can be copy.

My understanding is that the beneficiary signature for the intent letter can be scanned.  I believe they no longer send RFE's for this.

She is the US petitioner/sponsor, I am the foreign fiance. 

 

So could I sign the form and scan it, send it?

"A signature is valid even if the original signature is later photocopied, scanned, faxed, or similarly reproduced. Regardless of how it is transmitted to USCIS, the copy must be of an original document containing a handwritten, ink signature, unless regulations or the form instructions state otherwise. 3 USCIS will not accept signatures created by a typewriter, word processor, stamp, auto-pen, or similar device."

What about an I-864? My attorney told me back in April 2016 that my wife had to have the original for her interview.......if untrue, it wouldn't be the first piece of bad information he gave me..lol.

Those signature guidelines are for USCIS. The letters of intent sent with the I-129F are reviewed by USCIS. The I-864 is handled by DOS.

 

For a CO (covered under DOS), they have their own policies, and use the FAM. There was a memo sent out in 2017 about photocopies being fine for NVC, but the FAM was not updated and says "Each individual must still present Form I-864 at the time of the visa interview (so that it becomes part of the Instruction Package for Immigrant Visa Applicants) and the signatures on each affidavit must be original (not required to be notarized)". I think COs have since been directed to accepted the photocopies/printed ones now, but I wouldn't be surprised if some still want to see an original.

So...I am the Petitioner (residing in the U.S.) and my fiancee is the Beneficiary (residing in The Netherlands). She has her interview with the U.S. Consulate on November 6th - yaay!

 

I just want to be sure that it's OK for me to digitally scan a copy of the completed I-134 for her to take to the interview.

Can somone please tell me if the scanned documents worked for you?

 

I am in the usa and am filing the k1 visa, do I need any actual wet ink original signatures from my fiance in the Netherlands for that? 

Can she just sign the intent to marry and scan and email for me to print out and include in the i-129f?

 

I understand that I need to sign the forms and send them to the USCIS, but is there anything that they require for my beneficiary to sign and also for it to be the original?
