What now? 120 review period has passed so has RFE 87 days

Hi everyone.

Our AOS interview was held on March 1. Unfortunately, we got the dreaded 'case held for review'. Officer also wanted Gonorrhea test. On April 9th, I received the actual RFE for gonorrhea and mailed it back same day.

No word from USCIS ever since. Not even acknowledgment that they received my RFE. I've called them several times, all I keep hearing is that they had sent me an RFE, old news!

120 days is up! 87 days is up!

How long after these dates has everyone (who's been in similar situation) received word from USCIS, or approval?

Any and every input will be appreciated.

Thanks

I am in a similar situation, have you tried to submit a service request or infopass?

They said I would received a result from 4-6 weeks, it has been 3 months for me. I submitted a SR, nothing good from that. Did you try infopass?

What about congress office? I hear people talking about for help. It's in my list of things to do, should things not move in a few weeks.

I tried Infopass a while back but, long story, they ended up sending me home to reApply for that.

Thanks for bringing that up, I will set up an appointment soon. I just tried and the earliest one is at peak hour. That's the difference between it taking me 10 minutes and an hour getting there. I'll wait.

My service request had stated I would receive response by July 5th, no word!

I just called USCIS, they told me to wait exactly 30 days, then call on the 31st day. That'll be on the 13th. I wish I were more hopeful about this.

I also just made an infopass appo, the earliest available is on July 25th. Hopefully, I won't need this. Fingers crossed.

If anyone has been through this or is going through it, please share. Thanks

Yes, you better wait for the SR response but sometimes they complete ignore it. I suggest you should speak to a Tier 2 officer.  I'm gonna schedule an infopass as well; I hated that since I have to drive 5 hrs for it.

@Nathan99 Thanks to you, I called them again and asked for tier 2 officer. The officer told me he has no access to my file, to wait until my infopass appointment for an update. He told me that I should also hear from them regarding Service request, but you could tell, he was pushing more for infopass.

I saw on my case, as I was calling in this morning, that there's a note that my case was assigned to an officer on July 7th, 5 days ago, if you include weekend.

Hoping for more movement on this finally.

All the best to you as well, and to everyone else in similar situation

Hi, I had my AOS interview yesterday and everything seemed to be going well, she asked basic questions " where and how did you guys meet", and I answered just fine. I was sure we were to be approved on the spot but then she handed us a paper stating " an additional review of your case is required to to determine your elegebility" it was also marked under the enquirer after 180 days.

i asked the officer after that if we were approved and she said she could not say, she would have to wait for my background check to come back which could take a couple months

I am born in Nigeria, so maybe that could be a reason because they may be checking a lot of fraud countries?? Idk

idk what to think

has this happened to anyone, can anyone please give me an input

Thank You

@Kayjayy

personally, I've no idea but on doing more research, I saw a number of other people whose cases were held for review who were interviewed by the same guy as us. I don't know if it's his thing or just a coincidence.

I wish you all the luck. 6 months is a very log time but you might get a response sooner.

Thank you for your update. I don't understand why they can't give you a response for your SR. Infopass is your next luck then, I myself scheduled for one in 2 weeks as well.
