Recent workplace raids by federal agents in search of undocumented immigrants has California legislators proposing a new law that would require employers to alert employees to any planned federal immigration raids, or face up $25,000 in fines.

I'm not a lawyer, but isn't this obstruction? IE. a federal penalty?

The majority of the state is like this. Honestly both my wife and I hate it because in a number of cities illegals have more rights than citizens do. The cities of San Francisco and Los Angeles both won't give ICE any information about people in their custody, and if they get a request to turn someone over they won't honor it.

There was a case a couple weeks ago where a drunk illegal who was previously deported ran a red light and hit a car, he was running from hitting another vehicle 5 minutes previously. The sad thing is if he was caught prior to hitting and killing Sandra Duran the LAPD would have just let him go.

Also California State senator Kevin Leon who is behind SB94 has said that it is ok if illegals take and use fraudulent id's because it is how they can live, and how his family had to do that to survive.

He wants to pass a bill that would allow serious felons to be immune from deportation.

Liberals do not like the constitution. They may wave it around when they feel it benefits them....but that's about it.

Ok, I will give you one from first hand experience. I was side swiped by a latino woman and we stopped to exchange information. She accused me of going in her lane but it was her going in my lane. Anyway, she informed me that she did not have insurance but she did have a license(here in califonia Illegals can get DL's). She then went on to have her family a total of 5 people and two cars come, so I called the police because I didn't feel comfortable at this point. She lied to him saying it was my fault but she did not have any insurance because she was DACA and its ok for Illegals to not have insurance in LA County. She did not get a ticket at all, and I had to use the uninsured part of my insurance to get my car fixed.

Access to a low-cost auto insurance program  to assist unauthorized immigrants who will be eligible beginning Jan. 2 to apply for a California driver’s license. This insurance is crappy as all get out.
• A new California DREAM loan program at the University of California and California State University systems. Basically Illegals are given instate tuition prices and access to loans and scholarships. Not to mention they take up space in the University systems that is badly needed for Legal Immigrants and Citizens.
• And for minors who arrived without their parents and face deportation, $3 million for their legal representation.

Not to mention that California knowingly gives out food stamps to Illegal parents that has a child that is a citizen.

If an Illegal does not have insurance to drive a car and they are stopped, they are ticketed and let go. Before the car would be impounded but that program was stopped due to an outroar saying this affects undocumented people. So they can drive and just pay a fine that is it.

There are similar problems in Denver, and a lot is blamed on CA transplants.... They messed up their own State why can they not stay there.

Boulder of course if quite famous but it has found a way of restricting the consequences by limiting housing and that housing of far too pricy for illegals.

That's crazy. Here in MA we have mandatory insurance but that doesn't stop people from driving unregistered uninsured vehicles. Plus we have no legal means for an illegal to get a license, but they still drive. Here the popular way for illegals to register and insure a vehicle is to pay someone who is legal to do it for them. There have been cases of people getting investigated for having 10+ vehicles registered in their name and none of the cars were at their address.

Over here they can obtain a license, kind of like CA and a few other states. They are not asked to provide a social security number. I had this woman slide on ice and rear end me at a light 3 years ago, I honestly don't know if she was legal or not, maybe she was even a citizen, obviously no way to tell(but she was definitely not "originally" from here)  and I happened to be in a hurry that day, so once I got out of the car and made sure there was no damage done(it's a jeep so all she did was hit the trailer hitch - probably more damage done to her car lol) I asked her if she just wanted to go, she said yes so I let her, didn't call the police or swap info or anything, figured that would only be a waste of time since no damage was done.

Here you have to have a SS# or a letter from SS stating why you are ineligible for a SS# plus provide additional forms of identification.

Yeah, MA doesn't seem to be one of those. I guess there's a total of 12 + DC. It's a relatively new bill here I think since like 2012 or 2013, the logic was now they won't need to ask for favors and they'd be more independent so they could not be taken advantage of + easier to track them if they do get into an accident while driving themselves and legally(well as much as an illegal can be legal lol).

Most of the illegals I've encountered here have RI licenses. Some look at it as making them easier to track and encourage them to get insurance while others view it as encouraging them and making it easier to live here. Same on the healthcare. Do you want them to be afraid to get treatment when they have a contagious condition? It's a double edge sword in many respects.
