Wrong date on green card

I recently observed that the "Resident Since" date on my green card is wrong, and it may complicate the timing of my application to remove the conditions on my green card. Should I send the card back for correction?

 

Here are my stats:

CR1 approved: Nov 2015

Date of entry to the US (POE): Dec 24, 2015

Green card Residence Since date: Apr 2, 2016

 

If USCIS goes by my green card date, then I can apply for removal of conditions from around Jan 2nd, 2018. If, however, they use my POE date, then the latest I can apply for the ROC is Dec 24 of this year! 

 

Any thoughts on the best course of action? Thanks!

The "resident since" date isn't the same as the date of entrance.  

 

You become a resident on the day the green card application is approved. 

 

For example I arrived in the US on 1 October 2016 but my green card is still under review.  If it were to get approved tomorrow, then tomorrow is the day on which I begin my residency. 

 

Double check the approval date for the greencard and go by that.  It's likely that the date printed on your card is correct, but for peace of mind, check the paperwork bc you never know, human error does happen.

Thanks for the response, but are you sure about that? I used consular processing, not adjustment of status, so it might very well be different for you.

You and your spouse must apply together to USCIS to remove the conditional status within the ninety days before the two-year anniversary of your spouse’s entry into the United States on his or her immigrant visa.

Yes, you should have it corrected since the date is wrong. Your entry date is your Green Card date and as you've yourself stated, 90 days prior to that you are eligible to ROC.

Yep - just to add another voice here, you should get it corrected to avoid problems with ROC. The people above gave you the wrong advice because they didn't read that you were CR-1 and not AOS. We CR-1s entered with an immigrant visa and became (conditional) permanent residents immediately the day we signed the form at POE, and that should be the date on your 2 year green card.

The date you entered should be the date you became a resident on your green card.

file the i90 now but odds are you will not get it done before you need to remove conditions so be ready to submit passport stamp as proof you are eligible to roc at that time.
