Sent wrong version of document

I just sent a I-864 Affidavit of Support for my wife. One of the required documents was a translation of our marriage document as the original is olin the native language.

We had an official translation to English made.  However, later on we had another one made due to some spelling errors and formatting issues.

When I filed her CR1  I-130,  I sent the updated version of the translation. But when I submitted the I-864, I ended up sending the older version.

Both documents look different as they were made by different vendors/translaters

My dilemma is should I wait and see if the NVC asks for clarification or should I call the NVC and ask them how to send the correct version of the translation?

Your input will be greatly appreciated

FYI

I called the NVC on two separate occasions (for accuracy) and was advised to send in the correct version of the document w the cover sheet along with a note explaining the situation

I just sent a wrong document in my IV package. I need to send a new one. Did they say it would delay you?

Hello,

I am  sorry for the late reply. The answer to your question is that they did not say it would delay the paperwork  directly. However, your wait time will be back to square one.

Since they received my updated paperwork on 3/15/2017, it will be 11 weeks or so from this date.  They received my original paperwork on 3/1/17. Basically I lost two weeks.

Any time you send something in your "scan date" is updated to whenever they receive that document, no matter how small the document is. So if you've been waiting 4 weeks already, it will restart.

I don't know what they are quoting now but they can take up to 12 weeks (they typically say up to 6, and then once you get to 6 they say "Oh well a supervisor has been notified and it can take up to an additional 6 more weeks".

So if it is obvious you sent the wrong thing, then go ahead and do it. If it isn't obvious try to call and get as much info as you can. If there is a CHANCE that what you said will work, and you've waited a decent amount of time already, you will have to weigh the risk of waiting to see if it ends up okay or sending in the new document before waiting for them to tell you they need it.
