Hi everyone,

If you're planning on applying for I-485 for family-based AOS or otherwise, please note the recent change in form I-485. Since 2/21/17, the USCIS won't accept the previous version, which lasted barely a couple months.

Update to Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status

New edition dated 01/17/17. Starting 02/21/17, USCIS will only accept the 01/17/17 edition. Until then, you can use previous editions. However, all filings postmarked 12/23/16 or later must include the new fees or we will reject them.

Thanks for being careful.

Postmarked means sent by, not received by.

call USCIS or your lawyer to double check, though.

okay. thanks. I just hope it wont call for RFIE or better still an RFIE will be better than rejecting it in its totality.

Oh great. I just sent off my package yesterday and the I-485 is the 12/23/2016 version. That sucks, another week or two that the whole thing will be delayed. At least I know already why it'll be sent back and I won't have to worry and guess until it gets back here.

Thanks for the info.
