Thanks for putting this together.

Can you explain what this means? I thought it was a reference on where the current queue is at for priority dates. For example, on December 31st, Yakima WA field office is working on cases with a priority date around June 9th, 2016. However, looking at the dates, it seems quite a few of them are going backwards so maybe I'm not clear on how the dates work

If you remember in December we heard about the FBI fiasco with the background checks, they probably had to go back and redo a lot of them that's why a lot of offices went back in time.

This is awesome!! I've been tracking just for my FO (Memphis) so I understand that it's no easy task and for you to do all this work. We should start a gofund to pay you for this, :D

This put things in perspective, some FOs are way behind and some are doing well, I've noticed that some of the October Seattle filers have been processed already and based on this Seattle was at June 9th in December so hopefully the dates represent the oldest case that they were working on and some of us will get interview dates soon. Thanks again @spottymax

You are welcome, as a fellow Memphis filer, I have a feeling Mrs Spotty and I are going to have a lot of time on our hands.   (One can only check the case status update pages so many times in a day.) :D

As for the dates themselves, I think they provide an interesting reference across the board;  I don't put a lot of stock into the dates themselves.  If they were accurate, then no one after August would have any interview dates scheduled.  My own personal opinion is that these dates provide the USCIS an excuse if someone's application is taking too long.  For us Memphis folks, you have an NOA date of June 1 and know that a bunch of other people have gotten interviews?  Too bad, our records show we are working on applications dated April 21st (nevermind that we only moved 9 days in the last month)... we'll get to you in a couple of months (provided the dates don't move backwards). ;)

I actually was not aware of this. I wonder if this is why my "in line for interview" date changed from Jan. 5th to Feb. 10th, cuz they ran my background again

Lol at dates don't move backwards. We will be in for a long haul in Memphis, especially as that FO deals with Tennessee and Arkansas, and the new Nashville FO won't be opened until in teh summer.

As a number analyser have you taken a deep dive at this data: https://www.uscis.gov/tools/reports-studies/immigration-forms-data/data-set-form-n-400-application-naturalization this shows all the cases processed by FO. For Memphis in the 4th quarter 2016 they received 1,960 N400 applications and approved 1,809, denied 129 and had 4,144 applications pending, the quarter before they had 4,096 applications pending, so a slight increase in the pending file. We just have to keep ourselves busy but eventually our time will come.

I think the folks after us are going to have it worse as it seems that a lot more people are now filing for citizenship just looking at the Dec and Jan threads they have a lot more folks in there.

Here is the updated data from the USCIS Processing Time Information page (data pulled March 11).  Below are the Priority Dates that all field office are reporting that they are processing.  After a number of office dates retreating last month, almost all offices moved forward this month (unless you are San Jose, CA).

Thanks a bunch @spottymax, I have been looking for all the processing times together on one spot as you have done, useful to see how one's field office may fair relative to others and then compare to the actual processing times users report on this site. I have sorted and attached below the total processing days from the fastest F.O. to the slowest for the most recent batch (2/28/17) , good to see my F.O. is getting a little faster, albeit, very incrementally . Thanks again for this.

On a lark, I tweeted at the Alt_uscis account and asked why naturalization applications were taking so long, got this as a response...

Delays are a combination of old backlogs, new rush in petitions, unclear directives, software issues.
