Yeaaah! I guess I should leave posts on the forum more often! it gets stuff moving (I know, it probably doesn't influence, but still :) )! Got the notifications through mails and texts last night, and they are cashing the check today.

So, stupid question...... everything goes to the National Benefit Center.... is it a central location, and then they dispatch to your local office? If yes, is the timeline for biometrics letter/ appointment will then depend on how they can get to your package at the local office? I am slightly confused now.... It looks like most people get their biometric appointment 4 to 6 weeks after it was accepted, but I was just curious (plus I have a planned long weekend at the end of September, hopefully I won't have to cancel it) . Anyone has an idea?

Everything got to NBC that's the main hub for family based AOS... A biometrics appointment is usually generated a few days after they recieve the fingerprint fee... They usually look through your document and decide ofyiu need a RFE of not then once the status goes to be ready to be scheduled for interview is usually when it gets transferred to your local office... When you your biometrics letter in there usually a 10day window til your appointment... If you busy that day instead of rescheduling it try do an early walk in which is when you turn up to the building asking if you can go early 3/4 of people are successful doing a walkin... Definately try an early walkin if you cant make your appointment first before you try to reschedule it cause that Can add weeks on to you application Edited by Moslund

Thank you so much for clarifying Moslund! I wouldn't cancel the appointment though, I would cancel my weekend :crying: . I can imagine, it is bureaucracy, so rescheduling a bio appointment would be way more painful.

I think I had it completely messed up. I thought the biometrics were at the local office, that is probably 2 different things. So basically, let's say, they don't need extra infos, the NBC send the biometric letter, I go to whatever office is near, biometrics go back to NBC, and then once scheduled for interview, it goes to the local office.

I guess I can wait until I have the letter, and check directly at the office they mention to call and see if they accept walk-in, you never know!

Thank you again!

You get your biometrics done at the closest office... Uscis then sends them off to the FBI once the FBI clears you finger print check background check and name check they inform Uscis... While the background checks at the FBI are happening is when they fingers out if you need an RFE or if your case is awesome enough to go to approved pending clearance or if you need scheduled for an interview Edited by Moslund

Hey~ you have a similar timeline as mine!

What do you mean by priority date and notice date?

Hey there,

Family based. Your priority date is the date when Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative was received by USCIS. Notice Date is the day the receipt notice is issued.

I hope we all get our biometeics letter soon!?

I am sorry for all the stress. :( I am also still waiting for the biometrics letter. It's been 9 days since I received my NOA hard copies and exactly 23 days since I started this whole AOS process. And my visitor's visa expired today. But since I already submitted the AOS package I am not worried anymore.

Good to hear you can apply for a driver's license. Just keep the faith. This will end, even if its taking long, this whole process of waiting will surely end. :) Hope we'll have good news coming our way!
